Hippo Lodge offers THE most authentic bush experience I have ever had. The personnel is superb. The services are excellent. Food is perfect. The whole atmosphere is warm, relaxing, perfect for very small groups (we were three) that are interested in authenticity. The night game view was real, with a team that balanced experience and respect for Mother Nature. Silence is their best kept secret. Watching the Kafue river slowing flown down and hearing hippos and other animals living there is unique. The lodge is intentionally internet free, and electric power is limited to the guesthouse per design.. lodges have solar powered portable lights, more than sufficient. An AirTel connection is available for emergencies. I strongly recommend the Hippo lodge. Christian Rath (31 years worth of Africa experiences)
