Minehead is a beautiful town with flower lined main street. The West Somerset Heritage Railway is a must to enjoy the area in old style. The Park is a beauty with a bit of mini golf there. There is also the beach suitable for swimming etc.

Excellent
Exford is a very pretty place - attractively situated beside the river Exe. With a visitor car park, a village shop, two large inns and tearooms, the place looks to a great destination in the summer months.

Good
Beach and harbour are nice but for me the main attraction is the steam railway. Also good walking in the area

Minehead is a good base for touring the area and without being outstanding in any particular aspect, provides all that is necessary for an average tourist, besides being a pleasant town to walk around
"We’ve stayed here before so knew what to expect. Lovely big room with tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast fab, came on a hot plate which was a bonus, good choice too. We also used the pool again great experience. Very close to the front and plenty of parking on site."
"We were very happy staying at Dunster Castle Hotel with Lisa and John. Very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious as was the roast dinner. Good portions and very tasty. It was great that we could take our dog. Room was spotless and very comfortable. We will stay again."
"We had the cooked English breakfast and the eggs royal, which were both excellent. We also enjoyed the generous range of cereals, pastries, breads and drinks available. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful and the room was very clean with stunning views."
"Extra friendly staff with a very efficient check in. After a recent trip to Scotland this hotel was by far a winner in both the price stakes and quality. "
"Excellent food at breakfast. The owner Keith and his wife were very friendly and always ready to help. The bar staff nothing seemed to much trouble for them very polite will certainly be returning in the future."
"Beds were very comfy and the food was good. I had an omelette which was delicious with cheese, bacon and mushroom served with an english muffin. Lots of cereal to choose from and croissants. "
"The stay was perfect. Wonderful service. The staff were delightful. Breakfast was delicious & so was dinner. The room was spotlessly clean. We will definitely be going back. "
"Disappointing stay - room was described as 'deluxe' but was on the small side and being up in the eaves of the roof meant one of us had to duck to get in and out of bed. No turn down / refresh on day 1, no waste bin, small but basic things - especially at the price paid. Staff although friendly, were difficult to find (only available via WhatsApp ??), reception never staffed. Overall a great a shame as the hotel has a beautiful setting and grounds. We wint be returning. "
