Worst hostel yet
If you want to have a bad hostel experience, this is it. They are currently under renovation so fascilities could improve. Staff was very friendly but apart from that the sheets smelled like body odor and sweat! I dont think they change the sheets! The wooden bed is made of cheap plywood as with the floor too creaking with every sligjtest movement you make. Shower took time to heat up and felt lukewarm. The sink had no hot water at all so you need to brush your teeth in freezing water! They lock gates from 2am to 6am which is absurd if you are running a hostel. Maybe they opt to switch to a different business.

It is what it is - Bring earplugs
This place is fitted with bunk beds which are reasonably comfortable. I managed to get about an hour sleep because the person above me was snoring so loudly (all night) that the bed was shaking. There were at least five other snoring guests in the large dorm. I eventually took my blanket and pillow to the tatami-mat lounge and managed an hour of sleep on the floor. It was marginally more comfortable than sleeping in an airport. Great for overnight trips to the city to party because you'd have to be very drunk to get any sleep. But fair warning, you're locked out between 2am and 6am. Also the towel rental charge was ¥300. You can get a towel at Daiso for less. Showers were fine. Bathrooms were generally clean. Convenience store nearby. Staff seemed welcoming and friendly. The place is new and clean. Great if you don't mind sleeping in a large dorm. Bad if you need any amount of sleep.

8/10 Very good

Very good deal with walking distance from metro
1. Location: yes it's a bit far but still it's walkable distance to/from Nakasu-Kawabata station (中洲川端) like 5-10 mins walk.
2. Staff: they are really friendly and they explain all the houserules in the hostel in detail.
3. Curfew: yes you need a password to enter the hostel after like 22:00, and the main entrance is locked after 02:00, but i kind of agree with their concept that it helps save costs and it eventually makes it quite a good deal in the area
4. Luggage room: there isn't any luggage storage provided after check-out, so be prepared to find your own if it's needed (thanks to the receptionist, i was allowed to store for a couple of hours at his discretion)
5. In-room air conditioning: it's off during daytime so it's a bit warm
6. Laundry: hangers are provided free of charge

Worst service I have ever experienced in Japan
Checkin time was by 9PM but it was mentioned on expedia that they will guarantee the room until midnight.
At 8 PM I was called by the owner who was pushing me to come faster for check-in as the other guests checked in already and probably wanted to send the staff home earlier. I was running late and I asked to wait around 15 min over 9PM. The owner was angry and rude saying that in this way the staff will have to work overtime and he doesn't want to pay overtime. I never thought I would be told those things as a customer in Japan.
Also, the bed assigned for me was occupied. They assigned me another one but did not clean and prepare it properly. There was hair on the pillow.
