Worst hotel stay of my life. Just a complete dump. The tiny lobby stunk of Middle Eastern food (which I like, but not as a lobby smell). Their was some kind of glass or bullet-proof glass all the way up, with a small tray to slide papers and keys under. It went downhill from here. We asked for a nonsmoking room, and was assured it was a nonsmoking room. Lugged suitcases upstairs (no elevator) to find it wreaked of heavy cigarette smoke. Went back to the lobby and asked for another room because our stunk of cigarettes, AND THEY ARGUED, SAYING IT DID NOT SMELL OF CIGARETTES! They spoke almost zero English, I will add. Finally after arguing the guy gave me a new room, which had a huge smell of room deodorizer. As we were standing there with the door open, the owner/manager's wife (or whatever) came by and said we could not use the second bedroom in the suite. She was nasty about it. Because our original bedroom wasn't a suite, we were not to use the second bedroom in this one. She repeated it over and over, angrily. Are ya KIDDING ME??!!
When we left the next day, I went into the office ready to chew the guy out, up and down. Instead I told him I have stayed in a LOT of nice hotels all over the country and world. I told him if a customer tells you the room smells like smoke, you apologize, AND GET HIM ANOTHER ROOM WITHOUT ARGUING! Other guests were standing around complaining about the place, too. Shame on Hotels.com for even including them in their list.
