Cebu has a variety of great attractions including museums, malls, Ocean Park and scenic spots. Drawbacks are traffic (typical of any city in the Philippines) and the space between the attractions means having a driver or access to Grab is needed.

My wife's family live in Manila which I have visited many times. This was our first time in Cebu and we both loved it. Still a city with the shopping, dining etc.. but can also go up to the hills overlooking the city for great views and experiences

Cebu now has more people, more cars. Traffic everywhere. Hot and humid weather. The good part about Cebu - people are friendly. Just like any big city, there are caveats too. Scammers are around. Ask the hotel staff for ditections. Safer.

The traffic is diabolical. I lived here for four years 20 years ago and drove every day but now it is horrendous. Too much traffic and little discipline, frightening. Otherwise you can shop till you drop but branded goods are pricey

Cebu is a bear to drive. Congested and traffic rules do not apply. Once accustomed you learn to drive like them. Just don't go home and drive the same way. You'd lose your license.

Traffic is horrible, Grabs were OVERPRICED and did the "long way" trick for more money. Tried to go to Top of Cebu but driver wanted 900 pesos!

Traffic is bad and drivers are aggressive. Careful of cab drivers who overcharge for ride when they realize you're tourist.

Always something to do in Cebu, you'll never be bored. Close to all the historic sites most within walking distance.
"The Quest staff is the best! They go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Need to be careful if you are a light sleeper to not get a room on the lower floor facing the street. The pool side is excellent."
