No on-site check-in
There is no on-site check-in or baggage storage. You have to walk to another location several blocks away. We received no notification from the hotel that there was no on-site check-in so we had to ask staff in surrounding businesses where the check-in was and several people did not know. Extremely frustrating The apartment was very hot despite having the air-conditioning on. The air-conditioning cooled the sitting room but not the bedrooms

Dissatisfied with outcome of room.
We had some rain whilst we were there. We were on the 36th floor and it had leaked through the window and onto the floor in the main bedroom. The carpet was saturated. I informed the front desk and the result was to put a heater in the room to dry the carpet. Whilst that seemed reasonable it was extremely hot. I would have assumed an offer of a room change or if that was unavailable some sort of compensation. I checked out 2 days later and nothing was even mentioned about it. I was disappointed. Other than that it was all ok.

Very good location but pictures are inaccurate
The location was very good, but the pictures are inaccurate. The bathrooms have not been renovated as per the pictures on Expedia. The worst is the metal bits covering the shower cable is disintegrated and very dangerous with a metal pointy end. We got cut from that metal. The oven is broken with all the writings unreadable. Spoke to the receptionist and she said the "Operation Manager" will give us a call but guess what, up until now no one has called us or offered us anything.

Sensational location, comfortable stay
Room was fabulous, easy access to trains and trams. Reception staff more than happy to help and go above and beyond. We had a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment which was spacious, well set out and homely. The carpet is due for replacement and it could have been a bit cleaner (dust from dryer still in walls). But we had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Close to Southern Cross and easy walk for amenties
Best thing about the stay was the excellent heating. Used the gym. It was small but had all you needed. Pool looked great but it was cold while I was there so I didn't make the effort even though the pool was covered and heated.

Decent, but hard to find.
This is not your typical hotel. It is an apartment building that rents out rooms. Identifying the building is the first challenge since the name does not appear on it. There is a office inside that is only open between 9 and 7. It took UPS 3 attempts to deliver the package we were expecting since they said the place was not there. There is no daily maid service which suits me fine. The rooms are a nice size, but are also a bit older.

A great place to stay if visiting Melbourne
Pros: Great location. The apartment is less than two minutes walk from the Southern Cross real station. It is directly across from a team stop. It is centrally located from many of the places you may want to visit in Melbourne. The suite we have is large and comfortable. The balcony is nice and offers a nice view. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: Finding the place was a pain. It would have helped tremendously if information was given prior to arrival that there are no signs outside; or the fact that the check in desk is actually inside a real-estate office. We had to circle block a number of times before giving up and tried skype. Thankfully we had mobile data so that we could call. But I also know of a number of friends who would have just waited for the WiFi in the hotels for their Internet needs. They would have been in trouble in this case. Another side note was that we were requested to allow balcony cleaners to come in during our stay. The inconvenient part was that it gave a 9 to 5 time frame. What if we wanted to rest in that day? Not appreciated. That's why even though "everything" was great, there were even concerns that I gave an overall rating of only a 4.

Good location
Rented a self contained 3 bed apartment for 5 days. Oven didn't work so we needed to cook our meal in a different apartment. Following morning we were moved to another apartment where the main element on the stove didn't work and the overhead stove fan wouldnt turn off. Noise from the fan was annoying. We paid a lot of money to stay in this apartment. Facilities should be checked. Otherwise great location and the staff were nice.

Good value for money
We had a two bedroom apartment for two adults and two children (8 and 5). We felt the apartment was good value for money considering the other options in the city. Central location. Spacious. Two bedrooms. Good kitchen. Bathroom was dated but shower was good. Also had laundry facilities which was useful. Beds were comfortable. Twin room had good screening and darkness when blinds were down. Main bedroom was average. There was a large gap in the windows at the corner and so we had light coming into the room, both day light and city night lights (plus a blinking light from the nearby crane going all night). It was noisy and we were on the 14th floor. So I don't think the windows were double glazed. Our negative experience was that my husband left his laptop charger in the room plugged into the wall near the TV. We notified the hotel the afternoon we checked out and was advised that nothing had been handed into them from house keeping. We checked again the next day and the third day we returned to look in the room ourselves. The charger was gone. So that means either housekeeping took it or the next guests took it. This was very disappointing. Though it was our mistake we felt let down by the hotel that house keeping had not picked it up and may have even taken it rather than handing it in as it was obviously an item left by a guest.

Not a great start
I followed the late arrival instructions by giving them 30 minutes notice before I arrived but was still left waiting outside for another 30 minutes. Staff were abrupt. Luke warm water for shower. Tried it, won't be back.

Great location
We booked and stayed here for a mother/daughters weekend. The apartment is in a great location close to the airport sky bus and the free tram stops right outside the front door giving good access around the city. The apartment was comfortable and a really good size. The only thing that we found quite disappointing was the fact that the apartment wasn't cleaned properly. The bathroom floors were dirty and the bins both in the kitchen and the bathrooms were quite dirty. The windows also needed a good clean and it was obvious that thorough cleaning is not done regularly when we went to use the power sockets behind the bedside tables. We feel quite strongly that they need to raise the bar - we paid just under $400 a night and expect a clean apartment for that money - especially as no room service was done for the duration of our 4 night stay either.

Reasonable but tired facilities
I think I would like to be fair with this review, to say that I picked this because it was cheaper than a few other options, the pictures looked nice so I thought it would be similar but actually the rooms are quite old and tired, and really could do with an update. Having said that the location is fantastic with the tram at the door on Bourke Street. What I liked: The location The bed was comfortable and clean Staff were nice ...but that's about it What I didn't like: Stained carpet, very old plastic blinds that are a bit broken, my room faced lots of other buildings, I can't be sure the blinds were private enough, the bathroom smelled very bad and the fridge was really noisy, there is also no central aircon, the aircon are the older style ones, luckily it was not very hot when I stayed, the apartment lock is also fiddley to operate. The apartment is also a very residential building, the hall way smelled of people cooking and were often people in the hall way with PJs. They also didn't clean my room after the first night, I stayed two nights. Overall I don't recommend it if you are booking a trip for business, because the ambience is just not quite right, and also if you are booking for someone else because they will surely be disappointed. But if you feel like this is the cheaper option compared to others and location matters, this is OK. I certainly had no complaints about the staff, but beware, if you are checking in after 5pm, call them in advance to arrange for keys
