If you want birria, you need to go to Birriería las 9 Esquinas, a short 10 minute walk from the hotel. The goat birria was amazing and the homemade tortillas! Try a cazuela, a Mexican cocktail and jericalla, a variation of flan from Guadalajara.

I enjoy Guadalajara! Have gone there for business many times but I took a couple of days to go sightseeing including Tequila , Chapala lake, and Ajijc. The old part of town "Centro Historico" is beautiful and filled with a lot of history.

There was a festival commemorating the founding of Guadalajara that was kicking off. The sites, sounds and fireworks were amazing. Really enjoyed walking around and taking everything in.

We expected more boutique cafeteria and restaurants in old town. But can not find any. City is not clean. Main reason for our stay was to visit art galleries. On internet we found around 20, but actually in business were only 3. All others closed.

There is so much to see, to do, to ear, to hear and to experience there is no way to take it all in in one visit. Plan to return and visit neighboring towns like Tlaquepaque, Tonalá, Chapala and many others.
