Worth a stay
We stayed for 2 nights before flying back home. The hotel is old and beautiful with clean rooms and hot water. Breakfast is pretty standard for Tanzania with omelette, pancakes etc with some additional sweets. Located quite close to everything there is to see and do in Stonetown.

The hotel overbooked and I was moved (for one night) to a room in their sister hotel’s annexed rooms, which was fine but I’m glad it was only one night.

Disgusting Shower
Shower is disgusting, needs to be renewed it, it’s too old, also it stinks all the time, gases come out of piping or somewhere and smells terrible. Bathroom in general needs an upgrade. Other than that did not find any other issue, location is the best right in the heart of town.

Stone Town is over rated. The area is dirty, the buildings' facades are falling apart. The public parks and beaches are mostly dirty, with garbage everywhere. I wouldn't suggest to stay there. Better stay some where else in Zanzibar and just spend one morning walking around Stone Town. The hotel air condioner was really noisy, the pillows uncomfortable. Could improve in several things.
