Ypres, well known for its museums and monuments, features attractions such as In Flanders Fields Museum and Ypres Market Square. This welcoming city has something for everyone including bars and sights like Menin Gate Memorial and Hill 60—all within a rural setting.
Lots of historical buildings and cemeteries in the city, and many historical locations within a short drive. The Menin Gate Ceremony is a 'must do'. Restaurants in the square, very good, drinks in bars very reasonably priced.

A lovely town with a tragic history! It's humbling to see how the town retains their respect and gratitude to the men who lost their freedom in order for us to gain ours. A visit that will forever be in my memory.

Such a lovely place to visit, with a lot of history and places to visit, we found 2 days was not enough, and will come back to visit again. A must visit place if your interested in World War 1.

Ypres really has improved in the 6 years since we last visited - but prices have also gone up too. It felt a bit more tourist driven than sleepy town but its still gorgeous, dont expect a lot of night life, thats not what this place is about.

"Nice new property. Room upgrade given. Very close to Gare Lille Europe a real bonus. Good breakfast. Staff securely stored my luggage for me during the day"
"Wasn't aware of the amazing balcony view of belfry tower. Nice cool older building in summer but with modern refit, really enjoyed our stay and will likely return if in Lille again."
"Great location very close to Lille Europe and Lille Flanders train stations. Very short walk to get to old town (10 minutes walk). Basic hotel, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Small, but nice bathroom. Small room with minibar fridge. Air conditioning being installed right now which will be a bonus. Would stay again, terrific value for money. "
"Room was very clean and comfortable. Myslwf and my 2 children stayed 2 nights. Very peaceful nights sleep.
Hotel is right opposite the Lille Europe and under 10 minutes walk from Lille Flanders.
We spent 2 days in Lille and 1 day we took the tgv to Paris (only 1 hour away)
Staff are friendly and accommodating.
Hotel has a continental breakfast, aswell as drinks, snacks etc.
Small fridge and coffee maker in the room. A few other guests stayed here and travelled by train to Disney paris.
Highly recommend Novotel and Lille, perfect for a lovely mini break."
