This is a good, reasonably priced hotel in the centre of town (Koninklijke Musea voor Schone Kunsten, Grand Place etc all within 15 mins on foot) with lots of bars, restaurants, shops nearby. Accomodation includes a basic but adequate buffet breakfast and has good coffee (I always prefer to stay in a place that throws breakfast in, for convenience’s sake!). The staff are all quite friendly, too, and the hotel feels very secure — the front door is left closed on an evening and residents are given the code to unlock it so can come and go as they please; if you’re checking in late you can ring the bell and they let you in.
The rooms themselves, however, are very very basic and a bit drab, and in the case of the single room I stayed in, micro! As it was this didn’t matter since I was in Brussels for a conference so just slept in my room, left early and arrived back late; but if you’re on a vacation and like to spend any real time in your room this may not be the place for you. That said the rooms are very clean — they just need a lick of paint, new curtains, better bedding and less dated furniture.
But, all told, my stay here was pleasant and I would stay again next time I’m in Brussels for work (though wouldn’t if vacationing with someone).
