Very nice little historic inn right on Rosendale's adorable Main Street. My brief stay was pleasant and quiet (doubly so because of the pandemic). The room was somewhat vintage, although pleasant and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a bit cramped, with little countertop space. The check-in process was touchless and contactless. Kyle, the innkeeper, was helpful and accommodating, when I texted him, and we did run into each other in the dining room (which was closed because of the pandemic, except for a "grab and go" breakfast and Keurik coffee. To be honest, I would say the 1850 House is a bit over-priced, although the location is great and I will stay here again.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
We stayed at the 1850 House Inn for a weekend and loved it. The hotel room itself was perfect- unique, clean, and comfortable . The staff was amazing- friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our dinner at the 1850 House Tavern was exceptional, as was the daily breakfast. Without hesitation, I highly recommend the 1850 House Inn and Tavern.

The property is spacious, clean, and carefully restored. Updated bathrooms, comfy bed. Beautiful river view. Restaurant and bar on-premises. Staff is incredibly hospitable and friendly. Full of great ideas regarding the area and things to do. We were on a girl's weekend but I'm definitely coming back with the kids and husband. Breakfast is unbelievable.

Home away from home!
I’ve had two perfect stays here so far. I will definitely be back when I need an easy getaway from NYC. It’s serene and cozy but not too small. A home away from home! The inn/restaurant staff are very welcoming. The tavern offers some nice early evening Happy Hour specials. Breakfast and the breakfast chef are fantastic!! The rooms are comfortable and exceptionally clean! The 1850 House has it all!!

This was a really nice place to stay - the little town was great to explore, the building was full of character, food terrific, staff very friendly. The deck out back overlooking the river was a great place to hang out.

Joyce’s Birthday weekend.
1 stop shop. Had it all. Tavern and Inn served good drinks, dinner/ dining room relaxed mood, plus! good service- good food. Room accommodations so quiet and comfy. Parking for a big truck, more than enough parking spaces. Most of all the compliments are to the people who work there. Very engaged, super friendly, inquisitive and welcoming. Just Go. You won’t have any regrets. It’s close to everything Hudson Valley/Gunks.

The 1850 House has a great reputation in the small town of Rosendale and the people are very friendly. It is very clean, has an impressive coffee bar as well as some games available to play. The tavern is a great feature because you can sit outside and enjoy the view of Rondout Creek in the back. One thing that's not ideal is if you want to get to bed early, you'll hear the noise from the tavern. The room does come with earplugs though for each occupant. With earplugs, I was able to fall asleep while the tavern was still abuzz, so it didn't detract from my stay.

Lovely getaway weekend
We had a lovely time at the Inn for my friend’a birthday. Comfortable, clean, the most adorable sitting room. The back porch was great, too! Situated across the street from a great vegetarian cafe. Breakfast was lovely with a fine selection of treats! Amanda was a wonderful hostess, I hope to come back again.

Lovely old inn with an amazing breakfast included. My only complaint is they need to add a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.
