⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an amazing experience at The Retreat on the Hill near Austin. The place was peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Everything felt cozy, clean, and well taken care of, and the atmosphere made our anniversary even more special. Thank you for the unforgettable stay. We will definitely be back!

Stayed at the Bay cliff house and everything about it was perfect as described with the exception of electrical issues I had the first night with no staff available nor onsite neither over the phone to assist as it was after hours and no 24/7 support. Beautiful view and great space to disconnect and unplug as I needed

Ultimately, my partner and I had a good time but I wouldn't stay here again for a couple of reasons. The heat in the summer is VERY hot and the canvas to these rooms doesn't insulate the cool air from the AC even at its lowest temp. From the hours of 2-7pm it is unbearably hot. Too hot even for my pet. Several things in the room are broken: Jacuzzi spout, door handle, USB charger From the pics the bathroom looks connected but it's actually a separate tent, which isn't ideal in the middle of the night. There was no telescope as the pic suggested. And bc there is not clear signage, outside people entered from by the side of the restaurant, and people asked if we could help them find their room bc it was dark. The place has a spectacular view, cool vibe, and nice snacks. But to me, its price doesn't match the value.

My only issues were that the ties and clasp were broke on the Tipi (bedroom) and the same Tipi had a little bit of mold present on the fabric. These were not huge concerns but something that needs to be addressed. I did have a discussion with the maintenance person before we departed and they stated these concerns would be addressed. He was more concerned about water getting into the Tipi because of the rain which was truly not an issue. The property is well maintained and the bathroom was really clean.

This property exceeded expectations! I honestly had no clue what we were getting into. We pulled up and it was beautiful! We are sorry we didn’t get there early enough to explore more before dark. Then, it rained so we didn’t get to sit out and enjoy the view. But we need the rain, so we’ll take that. It gives us an excuse to come back! We may try one of the other rooms next time just for a different experience.

While I understand that intermittent issues can happen at any property, the sequence of events during my stay was unacceptable.Upon arrival, it was pouring rain. The code worked at the first entrance, but the second entry code failed. I was left stranded in the pouring, blowing rain. Because there were no live attendants on-site in the late afternoon, I used the property's text service. It took 30 minutes to get a response. Out of growing frustration from being soaked and cold, I also contacted Expedia, who reached out to the owners on my behalf. In total, it took an hour and a half to finally gain access to my reserved space.When staff finally arrived, they claimed the lock worked but the electronics had malfunctioned. As someone who owns the exact same lock, I know a wireless reset could have been done much sooner, suggesting a mechanical oversight.Furthermore, upon entering the restroom, we found an unemptied trash can containing used feminine hygiene products. This immediately made us question the cleanliness and sanitation of the entire living space.While the weather was out of the owner's control, the lack of responsiveness, the delayed access, and the poor cleanliness were completely preventable.. If these issues had been addressed, the property would have been a five star venue....other than these issues(which were significant) we enjoyed our stay.
