We enjoyed staying at the University Inn & Suites. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was good to have a good hot shower. The reception at the desk was helpful and breakfast was good to make your own waffles. Liked the inn had complementary coffee and water available near the reception office. The inn also has a swimming pool. There were many excellent restaurants in walking distance. Also the the AC 51B bus stop was two blocks away to go to the university or to the Berkeley BART station.

Hotel was in a great location for grabbing a bite to eat and getting to and from UC Berkeley. Plenty of parking which was fairly secure (they closed one gate at night). Staff was super friendly at check-in, which was quick and efficient. Rooms were dated but clean and comfortable. Hotel itself could use a 'refresh' but it was still a nice place to stay. Televisions in room had limited channel access. Continental breakfast (6-9am) had plenty to eat, although at 8:15 when we headed to eat, many of the items were low stock (OJ, cereal, waffle mix and syrup). Make sure to bring your own hairdryer, our room was not stocked with one. For the price and location, we would definitely stay here again

This is an old building and it feels it. The breakfast offering was very sparse. The only fresh food available was an orange and no protein options. The staff was very unhelpful/unfriendly. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. Parking is available on-site.

Nice hotel near UC Berkeley. Plenty of parking and the hotel appears well maintained. The manager is nice and very accommodating. They have coffee all day long and it has a good taste. Neighborhood has small shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop steps away and bus #51B takes you straight to UC Berkeley’s historic entrance; avoid the parking headaches. We will return to this hotel. Thank you.

Our stay was not good. I had 4 people in my room and 3 towels, the pillows are micro sized, hair on the sheets. We did not stay for the breakfast because the room next to us decided to stay up in the middle of the night screaming (adults not children)so we left at 3:30 in the morning. Building looks run down, small parking lot but it’s free. Only bonus was we did get to check in early and I did appreciate that. I will not be staying here ever again.

The hotel does have a good location and I have stayed there several times before. It seems the management lost interests in maintaining the hotel to an acceptable standard. The bathmat in my room was dirty, still had black smuggles on it. When I went to the front desk to exchange it, the staff merely shrugged and gave me another regular towel. There is no hairdryer nor an ice bucket in the room. There is no liquid soap other than a few very thin bar of soaps. I had to ask for lotion. I will never stay there again. This most recent experience saddened me. I don't expect much when staying at a budget hotel. But the things I pointed above are the minimum. I felt like I didn't get the $200 I paid for.

There was no blow dryer, I asked for one and they did find one but it was broken and filthy. I went back to the desk and asked for another they couldn’t find one then I begged and they eventually did and brought it to my room. I liked the free parking and coffee. The room/bed gave me the creeps. I got paranoid about bed bugs (thought there probably aren’t any?). The pillows had no protector other than a thin pillow case so the cleanliness made me worried throughout the night. The pool looked nice but I didn’t use it. The staff were helpful and seemed nice. The carpet was gross but I always bring flip flops for walking around. Definitely not worth what I paid. Pretty disappointed.

A good place to stay in Berkeley. It is a good value, off street parking and near the freeway. Breakfast is included as well as coffee in the lobby. Staff is there when you need them. Stayed there with my girlfriend and wasn’t embarrassed by the place.
