Patricia, 3-night trip

4/10 Poor

Not for me

This pub is clearly for walkers/cyclist the bedroom floor is wood and no carpets so the floor was dirty after taking my shoes off my socks were filthy. The food was very poor and overcooked
irena, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Would have been nice if the staff was friendlier from check in. Better directions to room as we were told on first floor. The room was up a stairwell and down the hallway in the dark. It was after 8 pm - we had been driving in pelting rain for 5 hrs. There was a really nice lady the next morning who greeted us for breakfast and was very friendly and nice so that was nice. Breakfast was hearty!
valerie, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Needs upgraded and cleaned

We used this as a base for Alton Towers so only required a place to sleep. The cottage was very dated and has not been properly cleaned in a while. One sofa bed was broken and we didnt have space to open ot up anyway. Luckily there was another foldaway sinhle bed that we put in yhe kitchen. The bathrooms were not good. Carpets on the floor which was a bit disgusting. The showers switch from hot to cold and many fittings were loose. It has a nice charm to it but desperately needs cleaned and updated. Toiletries, teas and coffees were not replaced. Its clear that this is a bar that has some old rooms that they can profiteer out of. The bar seems to allow dogs which is unsanitary when they serve food. Not worth the money

Beautifully location. The inn has charm and character but the rooms need som updating. Good food.
John, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

The Manifold Inn was pretty much as was expected. Lovely location. Once reception was found (not immediately obvious coming from the car park), check in was quick. Room was simple and a little tired but the biggest issue for me was the unlined curtains which barely cut out any light. I would expect blackout blinds or curtains these days. There was also loud snoring coming from the room above which didn't aid restful sleep. I realise this isn't within the property's control and maybe I was unlucky with the other client nearby. The shower was good. The cooked breakfast was good and set me up for the day's walking!
