Very Nice Staff
I enjoyed the experience at the Everest very much. The staff was so helpful and I really liked the interior of the hotel. The neighborhood is a bit disshelved and the main road is under significant repair which is a distraction but it is safe. A warning to travel in general in Nepal, I have four different bank cards, i could not use any of them in Nepal, carry cash

Big improvement needed
Internet down without any notification, when asked, no sorry added.
I order some Chinese food with no spicy sign, but came with spicy pepper(yes, not a lot). When I ask for changes, they try to wash it and redo, I refused and new one coming with small plate and 3 times more salt be added. I asked for water to add to it and try to compromised. But unfortunately it is still too salty. My God!

Lousy maintainence , no a/c polluted water
Be careful this hotel is not even rated 1 star
We had a very bad experience and had to change rooms 3 times in our 4 day stay
Water was contaminated, no a/c worked
Asked for a king bed and got 2 twin beds
And apart from that they argue with u
I would never recommend this hotel

An average hotel
This hotel was not worth what I had paid for, the hotel was far from the central of the city. The breakfast was really disappointing with the juices being really nasty. I will not be staying here again for my next trip to Nepal.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - hotel lied about amenities
The hotel listed that they have a car service to take you to the city center every hour for free. When I called up reception I was told that this is no longer available (yet it is listed on their hotel services). This is important since the hotel is not withing walking distance of anything interesting. They have really bad wifi (I stayed in hotels that cost 1/10th of this and the connection speed was excellent. They would give you a login and you have to login every few hours or so. Not only that, but the login would expire at odd hours and you would have to call again to get another one. In my 2 weeks in Nepal this was the only place from where I could not do VoIP phone calls due to bad internet connection. Bad quality food - avoid the restaurants at all costs (and they do charge a lot). For a 4-5 Start hotel they did not have a razor for me. I had just returned from a 2 week trek without showers. My expectations for a hotel were as low as can be and Everest Hotel could still not meet them. There is really nothing going for this hotel at all and they charge a lot of money (for this part of the world) more than 20 to 30 times what a decent hotel would charge. Please learn from my experience and stay away from this place. You will thank me later :).

decent hotel
i liked the services of the hotel although the infrastructure is old
I was overwhelmed by the way the staff took care of me as a guest of the Everest Hotel. The food in the various cafes was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel to others who will visit Kathmandu.

All staff were very helpful & made our stay pleasant & comfortable.
The only negative response is that they wanted to charge us 200 Rupees for a bottle of water, that we picked up for 20 Rupees at the local General Store.

I checked out after 12 hours
This is not a 5 star hotel, there is building work going on outside due to road "Improvements" the swimming pool does not exist so cant be a 5 star hotel. I checked out within 12 hours and went to another hotel as the experience was so bad.

HYGGELIG HOTELL SENTRALT I KATHMANDU
Hotel Everest er et greit og hyggelig alternativ til betydelig dyrere Dwarika´s hotel. Hotellet har hyggelig betjening, tre ulike spisesteder og trimrom i kjelleren. Gratis transport til flyplassen.

Beautiful haven in Kathmandu
Really nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Was very quiet and peaceful inside the hotel even though it was near a main road into the city.

Needs a little updating!! but not too bad.
The location of the hotel is good. The staff is great. The condition of the bathrooms and rooms are disappointing. The bathroom and rooms need a little make over. We had problems with flashing the toilet. We might try a different hotel next time but it is OK to try this one as well.
