8/10 Good

Good, relaxing stay. Would recommend and return.
Robert A., 1-night trip

8/10 Good

We had a lovely stay , the public areas were beautiful, however our room was disappointing as the only window was up high on the wall , which made ventilation an issue so it was extremely warm , and the room was in need of decoration . Having said that , I would definitely make a return visit as staff , food and the public areas were really lovely!

Only there for one night for our Anniversary this time. Fabulous lodge with decking area.. very comfortable and had everything we needed.

10/10 Excellent

We really enjoyed our stay . The hotel has a lovely feel and has very attentive and friendly staff . On arrival Rachel really looked after us giving us a most delightful room which enhanced our stay further. We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and the food and service were brilliant.

vely hotel

Lovely hotel with a cute courtyard where we had lunch. Stayed in the large suite with its own lovely garden. The room was big, two bathrooms and nice big bed. Coffee machine and kettle with fresh milk in the fridge and fluffy bathrobes plus easy ample parking. The downside was it was quite noisy from the road, bifold doors across the division from bedroom to sitting room would solve this problem. Also could do with body moisturiser….none was supplied. Overall great hotel.

Great building , lovely room and bathroom, great for parking, having a drink in the lounge was very relaxing and the food was excellent. Will stay again when working in the area.

A very enjoyable stay in walking distance of Stamford town centre and immediate access to the grounds of Burleigh House.

Best room we have had at the William Cecil

Everything lovely. A low metal doorframe on way to bathroom did cause problems. We struck our heads several times on it quite severely, and painfully. We informed the hote staff that warnings should be much more visible.

6/10 Okay

Sadly not a great nights sleep, but large rooms

The room and bathroom was very large, however the bed was not comfortable and there was a lot of noise from the road and the room above resulting in a poor nights sleep.

Great place to stop en route home. Able to charge car, which was a bonus
Ken, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

It is convenient for Stamford centre and the Burghley golf course
Peter, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

We loved our stay here! The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our dog received an incredible welcome, including her own bed, bowls and hamper full of snacks! The room was spotlessly clean, a good size, comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. The vegan breakfast was great and we had a drink in the evening, enjoying an expertly made cocktail. The hotel is in walking distance of Burghley House and grounds (accessible via the hotel's garden) and has plenty of parking for guests. It'd be great if they could install additional electric vehicle chargers as both were occupied on our arrival, but we managed to charge in the morning during breakfast which was really helpful with our onward journey. We'd definitely come back here!

Karen, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Our large room was lovely but odd in no wardrobe, couple flat hooks on wall, insufficient for our needs of more than 2 items and costs. Our friends had a small wardrobe no sofa. Dinner was truly excellent, all dishes.

Weekend Getaway

Very nice upmarket hotel with outstanding staff making the whole experience memorable.
Paul, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Loved it

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. We had a “cosy” room but it was big and lovely bathroom. My only complaint would be lack of power points. To use the kettle or coffee maker you had to go under the dressing table to swap the plugs and same to use the hairdryer. It was clean and very comfortable and a bonus we didn’t know about was you can walk straight into Burghley house grounds from the hotel. The breakfast was included and excellent. We chose the full English but plenty of options. We didn’t eat there for dinner but the restaurant did seem busy. Would definitely stay there again
CAROL, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

The staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The hotel was immaculately presente clean and comfortable. The room was well furnished and also comfortable if not a little small as we were there for only one night it wasn’t an issue.
