The property was immaculate, the rooftop bar had top quality cocktails, the coffee bar was perfect to start the morning, the bedding was top comfort and special turndown service and welcome glass of bubbly was icing on the cake! We loved our stay at Monarch Hotel, if they maintain the property just like it is right now it will be our preferred placed to stay in San Antonio. The room has been beautifully designed, the comfortable bed ensures a restful night, and the big and fluffy towels are the best of all!

The hotel was lovely. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Room was very well appointed with plenty of drinks, snacks, robes and bath-sheets. Did not eat at the restaurants but we did enjoy some cocktails on the 17th floor. Enjoyed the view and bartenders were great. Very walkable.

The pool was amazing and everything was so beautiful! The staff was so helpful, and the amenities were great. Great location, close to the riverwalk and restaurants. Tip: order the chocolate chip cookie platter from in room dining. Amazing!!!

Most amazing service I've ever received at any of the Hilton hotels. The only inconvenience I experienced was the lack of shade coverage at the pool. Shade was an option if I had gotten to the pool before 10 am to claim one of the eight available lounge chairs, or paid the extra $400 for a cabana for the day, but the fact that the few open seats that were available still didn't have at least table umbrellas for protection from the 98 degree south Texas heat was frustrating. Other than that, it was a beautiful property with amazing restaurants. I will be staying there again.

The Monarch is a beautiful building and experience. The staff in particular Bethany at the desk, and apologies if I misremembered this, Armando the bellman were so welcoming and helpful during our stay. The attached restaurants set a new standard in my mind for hotel restaurants, Dinner and breakfast both at Aleteo were culinary highlights of our trip. Oak and Amber’s hamburger and tallow fries were an unexpected delight as well and left me wishing we had time for another full dinner on this trip to try more of their menu! The hotel itself is located just a block away from access to the riverwalk, less than 10 minutes from the Alamo, and right on the Hemisfair park meaning an easy stroll was all it takes to enjoy local scenery, tourist attractions and historic San Antonio.

Overall, the property is beautiful. We experienced a few issues. The A/C in our room did not work. Maintenance looked at it and fixed it but it stopped working sometime during the night. The room was uncomfortably warm. We also had an issue getting a luggage trolley. A staff member stated he would bring it to our room but we ended up hauling our luggage down by hand. Most of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great.

The staff is fantastic!! The spa was wonderful. Where they fall short is their technology and engineering kinks need to be worked out, and the restaurant, in room dining food was ok at best, sometimes terrible but two great items were the salad with green goddess dressing and the chia pudding with passion fruit and pears! They try too hard, too fancy doesn't mean great taste. Also, for this price, it should be organic!! The room key didn't work (more than 3x to set this up right, engineering came in and still didn't work). phone didn't work well. Thermostat didn't work, too hot one night and had to turn it to 63F to get it to be 70F!

I really loved this place, beautifully decorated, staff was very friendly and attentive. Restaurants are all throughout, including breakfast/brunch and 2 restaurants, plenty of places to get a drink onsite as well as across the street on the river walk. There is a larger than “normal”deposit required for your stay, depending on the amount of days you stay. If it’s for a weekend it’s not bad, but think of $100-$150/night. Still would stay again because the amenities and staff were above and beyond wonderful. Thanks so much for making our anniversary stay so memorable!
