Beds were comfortable in the domes, very peaceful and relaxing 😎 the hot tub was a bonus, and the view of the water was lovely, we had access to the bathroom and shower in the inn, and Jeff and crew were helpful with towels and anything else we inquired about :) highly recommend and we will be back!

The Domes are a work in progress. Several domes are completed and available for guests. They are spacious and comfortable. Several others are still under construction, which gives the whole place the appearance of a construction site. The proprietor will need to make significant investments in landscaping and appearance. If you understand that "glamping" means no plumbing, then you won't be surprised. Of course, they have perfectly adequate bathhouses (also under construction). The only serious drawback is that it is too close to the highway. The domes have a lovely view of Bras d'Or Lake, but we were disturbed by the noise of the traffic.

Really nice guy running the place. We wanted to like it but the pictures are not what it seems. It is not ready for the public, most domes and washrooms are not finished and construction is still going on. Parking is difficult because there is a long one way road and the expectation is to park on uneven grass. The view is the water but mostly a highway and gas station. Hot tub and pool are blow up.

We have a great night and this is our first glamping experience. Washroom and shower was not totally ready for the public but I understand that this place is still under construction. Wifi not able to reach to our Dome. View of this place is amazing. Looking forward to come back with fully equipped and all the construction is done.

The dome was fantastic, it even had a television, which was great for the evening and when it rained. It is a work in progress so be patient it is all about the dome. It had huge views. Jeff was outstanding. The showers broke down but they let us use a hotel room. The hot tub should be deleted. I recommend them, once they are completed the price will certainly rise.

I was nervous booking this after reading some poor reviews, but our experience couldn’t have been more opposite! We absolutely loved the glamping experience! The site was still under construction during our visit (only 3 domes open), but the ones that are finished are just the cutest! It looks like a large building for washrooms is being built next to the domes as well - we had to use the washrooms in the main motel this time, but that wasn’t an issue! The property manager was super helpful and very kind. We had an issue with our key fob, called him & he came down right away to help us out. Super close to gas / Timmie’s for morning breakfast & fill-up before we hit the Cabot trail. Our dome had 2 double beds, a tv, microwave, fridge, ac/heater, and WHAT A VIEW! Perfect place to rest our heads! We didn’t have a chance to check out the hot tub, but we will next time! We would definitely stay again! 10/10 😊

The receptionist at check-in was terrible. I said hi three times and she never responded. She didn’t smile or seem friendly at all. While my friend was filling out the check-in paperwork, I said that I wanted to check in as well, and she replied, “I’m doing one right now,” in a very rude tone. Those were the first words she said to me. I do have to say that the property manager was very nice. He made the fire for us, was helpful, and treated us kindly throughout our stay. However, my first impression because of the receptionist was terrible. I honestly don’t remember ever being treated with such disrespect and lack of kindness while receiving service during a vacation. Also, the reservation was not clear that I would receive a bedroom instead of a dome. My expectation was that I had reserved a dome, since that is what was shown on Hotels.com, but when I arrived on site, I was given a bedroom instead. Plus, the hot tub that was advertised was not like the pictures at all. It was not placed with a view as expected, and it was just a small inflatable tub that could barely fit one person at a time.

The dome is spacious, clean, and has adequate amenities for an overnight stay. Great location as it situated along the road and next to Tim Hortons and gas station. Staff is kind and helpful esp when the dome smelled plastic fumes maybe because of the sun’s heat, he quickly helped open the dome exhaust windows to let the air flow. The cons is that washroom is outside and shared. About two domes are functional and already open to the public, few more domes are being built. Hope they’d consider the unobstructed views from the dome otherwise it will defeat the purpose of staying in a dome not a hostel. The tub is next to the washrooms so not really inviting. You can park beside your dome but pavement still uneven, maybe they will improve it as well. Overall, it’s a value for money, a good spot to have break at Baddeck before or after a long drive between Halifax and Cabot trail. Recommended.

We had to walk on boards over mud to get to the toilets and neither my husband or I was willing to shower. There was food crumbs in our dome. There was building materials laying around outside. Our view included a disgusting small above ground pool. We couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Buyer beware. While the domes were clean, the site was still under construction and not worth what they were charging. The property was dirty, the driveway completely muddy, the bathrooms dirty and poorly constructed and the hot tub, ha, unusable and beside a garbage pile. I requested a refund - they refused. I complained to Hotels.com, which provided a partial refund. Oh, and while the domes had a coffee maker, they had no running water. They also had a heat exchanger but no instructions on how to use it.

The review I saw were better than what I expérienced myself. It seem this place is out of control. Construction of domes until 8 pm. The washroom building not finish and also not clean. The dôme was like a big tent with AC. The cost is a rip off. I reserved for the second night Same place but in the motel section. And im not going there again. Its not refundable. Now , I know why. This place should not receive customers in this condition.

Domes are a newly added addition to the Baddeck Hotel, and private washrooms are being worked on and are under construction. The current bathrooms are in a private room in the hotel and are clean. Highway noise from the NS HWY 105 was loud. The dome was great, just needs a privacy shade for the glass entry door. Many heaters are included to keep you warm during the winter, and a heat pump is available for A/C in the summer. Overall, I had a good stay. The experience is bound to get better when the rest of the domes are built and amenities are finished construction.

Totally love the idea of this cute getaway but it wasn’t quite ready for us to stay and the pictures and descriptions are misleading. There is a highway between the domes and the waterfront and each dome has a designated bathroom shared by all the domes but not within the domes themselves. The bathrooms are a 3-4 minute walk up to the hill. The inside of the dome was very neat and clean but the wifi didn’t work. There is no water available in the dome so if you’re wanting to use the coffee maker, you need to bring your own water. Still enjoyed our experience but wished we would’ve known what we were getting for the price.

This place has potential to be a great idea, however it is a work in progress and not well executed. It should not be open to public or marketable in its present state. The location is right off the Trans Canada so you hear engine brakes of transport trucks and motor cycles constantly, it is lake view not lake front. As a solo traveller, I felt quite uneasy as I appeared to be the only guest. The full glass door to the dome was only partially covered - anyone could see in if I was changing or uncovered in my sleep. The lock kept falling apart with access. Door hard to close. The stairs to the dome broke & became unstable during my 22 h stay. No handrails to hold on to. I am young & don’t need except when half asleep and going to bathroom in the night for guidance. Inside the dome, there was an attempt at nice touches but it still lacked and demonstrated poor quality & workmanship- no bedside surface for glasses, phone chargers etc. They did furnish it with microwave, Keurig, bar fridge-nice but you could not plug it all in at same time. A sm kettle would have been appreciated. Bed & sofa were camping style items. The bathrooms- are across the lane from the particular dome I was in- only partially complete - quite unkept. Holes in ceiling & very high step in. Unsure what is dirty vs clean for towels & floor slippery and dirty. No fans so very damp. A little extra thought for dirty towel baskets or signs would be useful. Was supposed to stay 4 nights left after 1.
