I was charged a non-refundable $200 service charge upon arrival above and beyond what I paid via Hotels.com (not a deposit, a service charge). I also had to leave a $200 deposit, which I was told at check out "should get refunded in 7-10 days). When I asked "should?" I was told, "Yes, 90%." Totally inappropriate and not customary. As I sit here state-side, I am still awaiting a refund of the deposit.
I also had no hot water in the shower, but had hot water in the sink. This is clearly something that had to have been known.
The desk staff were very nice and solicitous, but the hotel upkeep and policies were not up to my standards (and I am not picky).
