Lovely little hotel in hhe heart of Canterbury
Nice hotel, 2 minutes from the centre, yet nice and quiet. Room was quirky and nicely decorated. The bed was so comfortable and thd linen lush. One tips, you are parking in the arranged car park validate your car at check-in or you will not get the discounted rate. Overall a good experience and we will stay here again.

4/10 Fair

Great location, NO Breakfast, room needs revamp.
The positives: Very central location, large comfortable bed, clean room. The negatives: The room required a bit of maintenance (eg. leaking tap, bedside lamp not working). The thing that bothered us the most is that on hotels.com, they advertise free breakfast, which is also on the confirmation email. However, the place does NOT serve breakfast at all. At check in, they said it was because hotel.com did not update their website, which may well be true, but they did not offer us any solution. Had we known there was no breakfast, we would have booked a different place.

The hotel does not have a reception and you have to collect the keys from a different location. This was not made clear when booking. This should be made clearer through a text or email of some sort. There were cracked tiles in the shower room and black marks on the carpet. The room was very hot and stuffy and the cover for the radiator kept falling down

Ok but nothing special. Ok for central location.
Dripping tap hard to turn off. Room phone to reception didn’t work. Uht milk best before feb and it’s now July so coffee mouthful was awful so had no hot drinks during 1 night stay. Booked “ with breakfast “ but was told it’s not included but was honoured because email said with breakfast. One key opened front door and hotel room leaving me to think that other residents had the same one key to get in front door - so we all have same key which opens all doors! Location the only plus point.

Nice place but badly run
Nice room comfortable bed and good shower. Short distance fron city centre. The bad stuff - no staff on site. A continental breakfast was shown on the booking but when we went to the breakfast room there was nothing there except empty plates and a toaster. Other guests who had booked on different websites also had expected breakfast. I called the contact number and got no answer but left a message (still no reply) My wife called and did get an answer but thie man had no knowledge of any breakfast arrangements. I have checked again on Hotels.com and Peregrine House is taking bookings as a 4 star b&b . It is NOT a b & b and is NOT 4 stars. Other than that okay for stay in Canterbury. .

Great Location and Delicious Breakfast!
Nice hotel in a great location in the centre of Canterbury. The room was small but well equipped and spotlessly clean. Breakfast, which was served at the sister hotel five minutes walk away, was excellent with a good cold selection and a delicious, fresh cooked hot choices. Staff were really friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our luggage after checking out to spend some more time in Canterbury.

Worth the price
The room is super nice and clean. A bit hot during heat wave since they isn’t any fan or air-con. Breakfast is very nice, you can choose full breakfast.

Two-site stay
I knew we had to check in and pick up keys at another hotel but I wasn’t expecting to have to go back there in the morning to eat breakfast. The husband wasn’t too impressed with that and his comment is “what if it’s raining?” It was only a five minute walk, but still. Room was clean and comfortable and the location was good.

We stayed for a night while visiting Canterbury and on the way to Dover. The hotel is very conveniently located and has a well-stocked bar and knowledgeable staff. We asked for recommendations and were given great options. They also allowed us to leave bags at no charge after check in while we explored. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended hotel.

Nice hotel, right in the middle of Canterbury, though in a very quiet street, so the location is perfect. Breakfast was poor, no English breakfast and little or none healthy options, I was missing just plain yoghurt without sugar, eggs, ... but, the location makes it all good ...

Castle house hotel was lovely
We showed up to stay at hawks lodge, and couldn't get in. I called the main number, and the man was kind and gave me directions to sister property for parking and key. We ended up staying there for the night. Castle house hotel was lovely!

Nice enough, but not worth the price
The 'Lodge,' such as it is, is a free-standing converted house about a 7-minute walk from the main inn. It serves only continental breakfast; hot breakfast (and parking, if you have a car) are provided only at the main inn. Overall, the Lodge is a nice place, but for the rates they charge, I'd expect higher quality service (my room wasn't vacuumed for two days), furnishings (every set of towels I received was ratty, with very frayed edges) and amenities (it was extremely warm, and there was no fan in the room). Furthermore, the mattress on my bed seemed to be made of foam rubber: no support at all. While it is no fault of the property, guests should also be aware that the location is very close to the town centre (mainly, a positive) and noise from revelers went on well past midnight every night I stayed. On the positive, the breakfasts were perfectly prepared and the dining room service was excellent.
