The Ivy Lodge is terrific, a lovely inn that exudes charm with a fantastic location, walkable to the Cliff Walk, the mansions, as well as Thames Street, letting us see and experience all that Newport has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was curious. I was served last for breakfast even though I did not sit last . Of course I was given apologies but also explain why instead of asking the quality of the meal “ are you done?”.
I did not feel welcomed - though I witnessed how the surrounding guests were treated with far more respect .

I had a beautiful porch to relax on and sit and have coffee or a glass of wine at night

Wesley, Joe, and all staff were excellent and the food was delicious. Everything else was also exceptional with one caveat. Do NOT get the Savanna room. It was good but so very very small and on the 3rd floor with narrow steep 3rd floor steps - probably the old servant quarters. AND the jacuzzi tub bath is not only dated but an accident waiting to happen. We are active seniors who both had difficulty climbing over the 10-12 inch edge to take a shower. It also makes the bathroom much smaller. Call the property to check size of rooms and which floor. I would recommend it highly if you do your research. Thank you again Wesley.
Everything was charming. Perfect weekend away. Hope to go back. Breakfast was delicious.

The house was beautiful and appointed to reflect the history of the house while at the same time the modernity of the bathrooms were perfectly up to date.We were thrilled to be so close to cliffs and enjoyed our time immensely. Don and Jacqui were so gracious and our breakfasts were exquisite. It was a special weekend and plan to return. Often.

This was a lovely B&B. Perfect in every way. Loved the decor. Patio was so nice in a quiet neighborhood. You were away from crowds but within walking distance to the mansions and waterfront. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful property with excellent service. It made me feel like I was staying in true Newport, rather than a chain hotel that would feel like every other chain hotel. I highly recommend!

Our New Getaway Sanctuary in Newport
We came across the Ivy Lodge last minute and just by the look of the pictures and the amenities we thought it would be a good option. We had no idea that it was the best most wonderful option. The property and the grounds are beautiful and luscious. We were greeted by the owner Don and received the most hospitable welcome. The complementary breakfast in the morning is cooked by his wife Jacqui and it is amazing! The staff is friendly and attentive. It’s a quiet beautiful sanctuary. We loved it and can’t wait to go back!
