I would have preferred an option to sleep on a western style bed due to my age
[80 yrs] and not on a traditional floor setting otherwise my stay was a delight.

We enjoyed our stay very much. So peaceful - just what we needed. Our room and all facilities were very clean and the attention to detail by the lovely staff really impressed. The traditional Japanese breakfast was equal to the best we have experienced in Japan. Highly recommend this guesthouse.

Had to wait 15 minutes to check in as room wasn’t ready. Not very busy so really no excuse for that

Tranquility in a Japanese setting.
A portable heater in the room made switch on and off clicking sound at night.
They did provide an itemised receipt, after questioning about overcharging our massages, they said that because we booked our accommodation through a third party. They had not mentioned the surcharge when showing me their listed prices.

Exceptional experience at a unique property.
Every detail is looked after. Considered rearranging my trip to stay longer. It's a no-frills kinda place, but it's exceptional in its peace and beauty. I wish the pillows were more comfortable. And pay close attention to the driving instructions before arrival. Google maps will send you an impossible way on a walking path! Oh - and the traditional Japanese breakfast is gorgeous.

Should have stayed at the Lakehouse
An enjoyable night in an authentic Japanese style guest house. The massage was excellent and the food was authentic and tasty.
The rooms were floored with genuine tatami but were very small and a little dated as was the dining area which was very sparse and basic. There is no TV or wifi (which does appeal at certain times) but this would become a bit dull after a few nights.
It was relatively enjoyable but I am unlikely to return.

Internet makes the place look a whole lot nicer
Arrived to the room not set up, air-not turned on to pre-arrival so room was stuffy, mouldy smell through out the room and just totally out dated for the money spent, have to say the facial that my partner received was the highlight, best she has ever had which was pleasing in the end.

Traditional Japanese
You sleep on a traditional Japanese bed like a futon on the floor. This won't work for people who have problems getting up off the floor because you have knee problems or you're older. It is very relaxing since there is no TV or wifi in the rooms. The Japanese breakfast is really good.

Romantic getaway
Fantastic accommodation which provided a relaxing ambience. I felt I was transported back into Japan. No wifi and technology which meant I could just catch up on my reading and meditate. Meditation music was provided in the room. The futon was comfortable. Made me want to buy one for my own place! The spa was also very good. The breakfast was great and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Overall, highly recommend this place if you want a romantic and relaxed getaway.

Beautiful, clean, authentic space. Kind, informative Japanese waitstaff, although strange-mannered man at reception-wouldn't wait for me to put on my shoes before taking key upon leaving, and tried to hand me an invoice while I was occupied tying my shoes, placing it on the floor infront of me in full view of my partner (who did not know what I'd paid up until then). Other than that everything went smoothly and the food was lovely.

It was really enjoyable to stay in a traditional ryokan without having to fly all the way to Japan
