Antebellum mansions stand frozen in time along streets where Spanish moss dangles from ancient oaks like nature's own decorations. Horse-drawn carriages clip-clop through the historic district, offering tales of pirates and Civil War drama. Kayak through winding tidal creeks where dolphins surface with surprising nonchalance. The Penn Centre on St. Helena Island provides a moving window into Gullah culture and Reconstruction history. Military buffs can't miss Parris Island, where Marines have trained for generations. After exploring Bay Street's shops, watch the sunset paint the water gold from Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. Local restaurants serve shrimp caught that morning, often by the chef's cousin. The pace here moves with the tides – unhurried but inevitable.

Beaufort Inn
"My time at Beaufort inn was great! Very close 2-5 minute walks to some great bars/restaurants and places to see. Beaufort inn has great hospitality and staff. The AC was nice and cold. The only upgrade i think would be nice is some more modernized TV’s with better resolution but that was just for a brief time before bed. Some of the furniture could use a simple touch up with paint. Besides that Beaufort inn was an awesome stay and i would recommend and if i return in the future will rebook with them."
