Melia Purosani Yogyakarta
"Melia Purosani Yogyakarta is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location, within walking distance of Malioboro Street. The lobby is elegant and makes a great first impression. Our stay started with having to wait more than 40 minutes for our room despite arriving after the official check-in time. Once we got the room, we found it spacious and comfortable. However, some housekeeping details were overlooked, including missing hand towels and a bathroom that did not meet our expectations for a five-star hotel. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant. However, when we started ordering, we were told that several menu items were unavailable. The available dishes we ordered were very disappointing in terms of flavor, quality, and value for money. Considering the hotel's reputation, we expected a much better dining experience. Breakfast was better, offering a good variety of local and international options, including an egg station and fresh fruit. The staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, Melia Purosani has a beautiful property, spacious rooms, and a prime location, but improvements in housekeeping and restaurant quality would better align it with five-star standards."

"Here were lots of things to do, the hotel is in an iconic location amd building and the staff are amazingly helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic and the food is great"
Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro
"Everything was 10/10 except the breakfast wasn't to my tastes. I can't mark them down for that though"

"The rooftop pool was a welcome addition and a little oasis after touring the city. The beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful."
Greenhost Boutique Hotel
"Amazing unique hotel with nice pool, nice restaurant, and big clean rooms with good showers."
Kimaya Sudirman Yogyakarta by Harris
"This is a good hotel. The staff is very helpful, breakfast delicious with incredible selection and the rooms comfortable. My only complaint: the bar is terribly overpriced. We learned that our first night. Later nights we noticed that no one is there. (Hint: walk 3 blocks to Ar+otek --- their bar & restaurant are much more reasonable with local live music many nights)."
Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta
"Beautiful and luxurious hotel with an A+ staff. Room is cleaned every day unless I ask to skip (with a button near the door) but they will come by later for a rescheduling. This way they can restock the free complimentary water and food/fruits. Pool is very nice, breakfast buffet is from 6am to 10am and I do recommend getting it as part of your room - wide selection and most of its pretty good. There is a national anthem at 10am that does play in public areas of the hotel. Staff is helpful and professional with the front desk and those at most front facing positions having strong English speaking skills too. Would go back if I was in Yogya"

"Excellent place to stay in Yogyakarta Indonesia"
Oakwood Yogyakarta
"Amazing and friendly staff who are always looking out for you and your wellbeing. The place was 200m away from the market which has local delicious food. It is also 100m from the Tugu Yogyakarta which has many cafes at the roundabout. It’s also 5min away by car to the Tugu Yogyakarta train station and 5-15min away from malioboro mall. The swimming pool is a relaxed and conducive place."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Yogyakarta
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Yogyakarta on a budget is a delightful experience, especially during February, March, and September when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For those keen on exploring the region's rich history and culture, a visit of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This period allows ample time to enjoy affordable tours and sightseeing of key landmarks such as temples, castles, and museums, as well as cultural attractions like traditional dancing and historical monuments. With great value for money, Yogyakarta offers an ideal destination for travellers seeking a blend of heritage and affordability.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com may offer enticing hotel deals for Yogyakarta, where you could find discounted rates by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions for hotel accommodations. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool via the app is a convenient comparison tool that allows travellers to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring that if rooms become available or prices drop, you may discover an opportunity to book a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a more advantageous rate for your stay in Yogyakarta. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you make a reservation through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price seems a bit steep, we can suggest alternative dates that may help you discover a more cost-effective option.
- Consider your location: Hotels in close proximity to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but given Yogyakarta's excellent public transport connections, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that is still well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
