Please note - this is not a hotel, it is closer to a BNB and you interact directly with the owner of the property. I didn't understand this and it made the initial interaction a bit bumpy. The owner, like most others I ran into - is extremely friendly.
Ohrid is beautiful and lovely. I loved the location of the property and the view was fantastic.
The town was loud - bring earplugs if you need more quiet to sleep (I live in a big city on a large road - but the music coming from the restaurants and bars was disruptive so late) Sound travels a lot in this small city, and you likely just pay for it by the fantastic location.
When we arrived, our host brought us a bottle of wine (delicious Macedonian wine - I ended up buying bottles to last us the rest of the trip immediately), sat and chatted with us a bit and shared a glass with us. This was unexpected because I expected a hotel, but it was mostly pleasant. The thing that, for me, was a huge issue was he sat down and lit a cigarette. I hate smoking and the smell and everything about it, so this was very difficult for me.
The owners have a dog, which barks when you come in if it is surprised. Between their dog and the neighbors dog, and again, the sound traveling, if people come in late, this is disruptive to sleep.
