The room given on check in looked nice, but quickly revealed it faults; lights not working, fan not working, and room window had a notice on it saying do not close as it was broken, and as it overlooked the street there was so much noise that sleep would have been impossible!!
We were offered another room, but sadly it was so shabby, holes in the plaster-work and walls, tatty furniture, and walls and again out on to the noisy street below.
We were offered another room, this again looked the nicest so far, but had a non obvious step in the floor which we quickly fell over (no warning markings) and then once on this level the floor sloped away markedly it made you feel dizzy. On testing the bed which followed the slope your feet were so much higher than your head you could feel the blood go to your head.
We finally settled on a fourth room, still not good, a bit shabby, damaged furniture, but a level floor and bed. Whilst still a bit cramped for space it was the best compromise.
Whilst most of the staff did their best to be helpful it was not always at a level as expected in a city centre hotel.
As for the bar/dining area this was no more than a ' sports bar', Sky sports everywhere, and who wants to eat and drink with football screens everywhere you look. Again this looked tired and a lack of maintenance was obvious. Eating in was not a preferred option, but as breakfast was included, which was not bad, we made the best of it.
I would not recommend this place to any one!
