The young lady who checked us in was efficient and extremely helpful. The interior and exterior of the hotel is run down. The room hadn't been cleaned despite it being an hour past check-in. The room was worn and felt dirty. The walls are thin so that voices, tv's, dogs, music and road noise are easily heard. This is an open motel on a busy street. There was no hot water in the shower and pressure was low. The folded bath mat hadn't been changed and was very dirty. At 4:00 AM there were no lights on anywhere which requires using two staircases in the dark and a high step up/down to the second floor landing level. The hotel lobby was locked. As the driver started the car, a hotel employee ran out to ask about the key, which was left in the room since the lobby wasn't accessible.
The property was chosen due to the airport access communicated at the time of booking. It turned out to be no closer to the airport than the Centro Historico area of Queretaro. The town of Bernal was charming, however.
