Lovely hotel and staff
I loved this hotel. Staff were brilliant from reception to housekeeping. Nice courtyard to sit outside (sadly people were smoking at times). Great location near the nightmarket.

Ammata Boutique Villa was a great choice for our stay in Luang Prabang. The location was excellent and the service was very good. The rooms were spacious and clean and the balcony area outside our rooms was very convenient - a great place to enjoy a drink or a coffee.

Our beds were very stiff/ old. Curtains looked like they went through some storms, water stains. During our stay, there was a flash storm, it blew open the windows and our beds got soaked. Even with the replacement mattresses it was worse then the original mattress. I assume it eas taken from another room.

What we didnt like was the fact it 35° and there wad no air conditioning in the room; I complained and they did put us in another room which also had no air con. The youmg boy on the desk could not speak english very well and tried to get a hold of the manager but he wasnt answerimg his phone. As well the fridge did not work and had a bad odour. The fridge in the other room didnt work either. I had insulin that needed refridgeration but that wasn't the point. After saying we were leaving and wanted our money back and being very assertive we were moved to a third room and amazingly air con and fridge worked! I think management was trying to get away wirh not providing these basics if they could. I cpuld stand to be corrected but i did not notice any smoke alarms. The signs out front said they booked tours but that service was not provided . To be clear the teen working the desk is not to blame; this was clearly a mismanagement issue. Would we go back......no. you should not have to fight for the basic anemieties

The rooms was a good size and in a great location. However, there was a noise (it sounded like a refrigerator starting and stopping?) that was constant the whole time I was there, and I didn’t get a good nights sleep. I asked one of the fellows from the front desk what it was, and he had no idea.

I had a satisfying stay@this house. I was at the first floor w/ easy access to the front entrance. Staff were friendly and speak understandable english. Special mention to Cha who is accomodating and even walk you to your breakfast area by Mekong river. It’s an old house w/ original interior (love the wide plank wood floor and ceiling), toilet seat needs to be replace ASAP. We need a floor towel. They keep replacing my hanged bath towel. Location is very convenient and walkable to lots of places of interest. It’s a local immersion hotel, away from the noises and commercialism of Main Street. Brother mouse is around the corner wherein u could volunteer an hour talking to local youth who wants to learn conversational English.

Decent mid-range place
This is a clean little guesthouse run by nice, helpful people.
Very central to the old city and right on the river.
A mild disappointment (I was tired:) There's no room service, and the tv didn't work.
Still, if you something nicer than a backpacker place, and not as pricey as a five-star, this is great.
Hot water and wifi were great.

Laos doesn’t worth travelling. Ok Hotel though
Just ok hotel but not amazing. Very disappointed by Laos. Corrupted cops and no security. I will never go back. Full of foreigners there is nothing authentic. Ammata people were nice but it is a lost country and they can’t do anything about it. Thailand or Malaysia is 1000 times better
