I want to give the Gordon House Apartments a high rating, but I can't. Hotels.com booked us in a room that did not exist. The hotel scrambled to find us a space. Unfortunately it was a studio apartment right next to the café -- as in next to the window by the bed is a table a café. Noisy when the café was open from 7-3, but peaceful the rest of the time. While I appreciate them squeezing us in, and allowing us to check in early, the limited privacy was an issue.
They do not have a front desk. I don't know what you do if the café is not open. As a non-Australian, we had issues communicating by phone (later learned they do use WhatsApp). I had to download an app in order to open the door to the apartment complex and to the room.
My advice: great place, convenient to CBD, but do not book the studio!
