Murrayfield meander
Absolutely beautiful setting. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and assisted us where necessary. The stadium is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The restaurants are lovely and serve a wide variety of food. The breakfast are very nice.

The hotel was fantastic. But we booked this hotel to attend an event a Murrayfield as it came with parking. We arrived for check in to find the parking was closed off to make room for a gazebo for accommodating more people having drinks. People that were not booked to stay at the hotel. We then had to find a parking space which was a 10 min walk away from the hotel due to the fact streets were cordoned off and very busy with the event at Murrayfield. Very disappointed considering this was a big factor in booking the hotel.

6/10 Good

This was our third time staying at Murrayfield Hotel and sadly it will likely be our last. Prices have gone up yet standard of their rooms has gone down. What’s advertised is not what you get, Luxe double advertised to be a big room with a sofa however although room was big there was no sofa , spoke to manager who explained the wrong pictures were on the website and what was actually been shown for a Luxe double was in fact their junior suite. Website said GHD hairdryer and straighteners in Luxe rooms, turns out that was also a mistake on their website and there was no GHD hairdryer and you had to ask for the straighteners. Breakfast, although the hot food was very tasty there was a 10 mins wait just to get a seat then about 25 mins wait for the hot food. Continental breakfast wasn’t topped up and there was very little left, we went down half way through the breakfast servicing time. We asked for a tea and a coffee and I never did get my coffee . However what I couldn’t believe was that the full Scottish was meant to be served with ‘Lorne sausage’ my husband was meant to get extra as he didn’t want mushrooms and what turned up was a ‘sample bite’ of sausage, even after questioning this and getting a couple more pieces of sausage it still did not make up one whole sausage! I get presentation is important but giving people ‘sample bits’ of sausage and not the whole sausage is ridiculous! Picture shown is what was served up, 2 bites of sausage!!

Lovely rooms.
Nice rooms, elegantly furnished. Strange arrangement in bathroom, where there were basically 2 shower units and insufficient space for all the towels etc, which made everything a bit cluttered. Restaurant average, food and service so-so. I've stayed here before, and my impression is that standards have perhaps slipped a little.

Well placed and comfortable stay in a nice setting
A really warm welcome and quite a unique stay in the "House" section of the hotel, and a garden room at the back of the House was quiet and relatively spacious. This was an accessible room (which I did not require personally), but was comfortable and met my needs. The breakfast was excellent (including the smoked and cooked fish!) and I would certainly stay again.

Very short notice booking - fabulous service given
Room was booked at very short notice (approx 2hrs before arrival) and the hotel were amazing - from reception to giving an upgraded room. They had received the special request note from Hotels.com and would definitely stay there again. It is a beautiful hotel, fabulous staff, great room, cleanliness etc.

Room too smal
The room we chose turned out to be too small. I was explained it was our choice but for the price I was expecting the usual 4 star room size. The shower didn't have a hose, which is a must. The toilet door was of glass and the light coming in through the window was too much even with the roller blind down. It wasn't very clean. The good points: the best bed we had for a long time, very sturdy mattress. A large tv. Free parking. Free wifi. Superb location. Friendly staff. We ate out.

It is a well maintained property. The room was too small for my liking but was very neat and clean. I particulary liked the washroom. It is an old building so carpet in staricase does not smell fresh.

4/10 Fair

i arrived at the hotel at 1.30pm to find it's beer garden at the front of the hotel completely overrun with fans of glasgow rangers making use of two outside bars that had been set up & loud music was blaring from a sound system. myself & a couple of dozen man utd fans fought our way through the mob only to be faced with four bouncers who were supposed to maintain control quizing us before we were allowed into the hotel, where we were informed that we would have to wait till after 2pm to check in. it was a hot & muggy afternoon & i was already exhausted from my travels that day & wanted a shower & a short rest before the game at murrayfield. i got time for the shower but it was after 3pm by this time & i'd still got to get to the stadium before kick off. i got soaked walking to the stadium & soaked again on the way back to the hotel for my overdue rest, i suffer from MS. but no, the fans were back in the beer garden, music blaring yet again & my room, nice though it was with a lovely big shower cubicle, was on the ground floor & to highlight this the bedroom window was a large pane of frosted glass, i had to close the blinds & the curtains to get some privacy but didn't drown out the racket from right outside my window, one of the bars had been set up right outside my room. breakfast wasn't included in the £246 i paid & it would be another £25, needless to say i wasn't going to pay that & i checked out at 9am, i won't be back

I loved my stay at Murrayfield Hotel! It was convenient and walkable to several areas in Edinburgh I wanted to visit, and there were great dining options on property and nearby. I was on Day #2 of my trip, and the exhaustion from traveling had worn in, so it was a welcome and quiet retreat to catch up on sleep and enjoy a great dinner on premises.
