Great location, big rooms , but little dated
The executive room was massive, 2 rooms , 2 toilets, but the rooms are now a little dated. I had to complain about the internal phone not working, missing towels and missing tea cups. Rachelle at reception sorted them out very promptly. She was a pleasure to deal with , even extended my check out by a little, even though I didn't end up using that extension.

I had to get our key reactivated every time we went back to our room. They need a sign around the pool that says slippery when wet. I slipped and hurt my back and went down to let them know. They did nothing about it and just ignored anything i said. Definitely will not stay there again.

We had asked for non-smoking room. We recieved bed sheets that smelled like they were recently used in a smoking rooms the floors were not cleaned properly and the sink would not working properly. The bed sheets smell almost made it unbearable to sleep because of the stench of the bed sheets.

Twice they changed my suite due to air condition not functioning. Bathrooms leaking from ceiling in the first room I was checked in and room was hot with no air condition. Maintenance, called and still could not fix. They never changed my room for two nights. I had to sleep waking up sweating in the middle of night. They switched me third night to a known broken room with no air condition again and bathroom leaking. Almost broke my neck after taking a shower because floor was full of water. Staff at reception were rude and never gave me anything for complimentary or refund after second night. They kept saying hotel is full avoiding to change me to a better room. If you are on vacation it’s the worst place to stay. Hotel is old. I don’t see anything I could compliment on. Restuarant basically has nothing good about it visually or the food. I would never stay this hotel again. Be warned, don’t ruin your holiday and be attracted by the low price only to experience loud noise from the hindi club and Philippine club in the lobby and old, broken HVAC, broken bathrooms that are flooded after bath or showers. They are rated as four star, they must have bribed to get that many stars. I wouldn’t even give them any star.

Hell hole!! NOT A 4* AT ALL
First of all we have been going there for the past 7 yrs... when it was called Flora Grand...then Lotus Retreat now Howard Johnson. Things have going from bad to worst. Towels was so worn and off white i would not use for my floors. Could not let water out basin had to ask for help. Suppose to have had a king size bed but a dble bed. Reception says thats what you booked thats what you get. First room had a freshly wet painted bath. We were full of paint while trying to shower. Oh hell what a place!!!!

This property is heavily booked and used. The rate per night is average and good for budget travelers. the staff is friendly and respectful. However, the rooms are standard and in need for renovations. We had problems with black mold and roaches in the rooms. Management addressed the issue with a new room but the same conditions were found.

Bad experience.. House keeping is terrible...
The room was not clean, heavy smoking smell. Bathrooms were not ready with Body wash gel and Soaps. It was empty. The response from Reception was very pathetic. After so much shouting they shifted to a new room. The room has lot of small cockroches.. In the nights it is visible in rooms, toilets everywhere.. like it is a hatchery... No pest control done.
