Amazing, hotel is nearer to nice eateries

Excellent hotel across from the lake
This is our second time staying at this property and again enjoyed our visit. The rooms are large and clean, close to the lake and Eat Street. Breakfast buffet is very good. Made good use of the pool area with its mineral spa pools. Nice modern hotel in a convenient location.

Over priced. Unhelpful staff. Very ordinary room

We enjoyed are stay at the Novotel Rotorua. It has a great central location with many options for dining walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great, as are the thermal hot baths and swimming pool!
Thomas, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Easy access to shopping and restaurants
Comfortable bed. Very quiet area. Close to a lot of restaurants, just across the street. Right across from the park and a beautiful walking path along the water front. Enjoyed the pool and thermal pools in the hotel.

4/10 Fair

Not as shown in the photos - Disappointing
I booked 2 rooms. The customer service was good however, no help with luggage or even getting a trolley. Room was filthy, hair over the walls in the bathroom, carpet pulling up, wet carpet in 3 areas, leaking fridge, mouldy bathroom, rusted rails, dusty, dirty toilet, no plug, needs a complete renovation. All our products were empty and even after a room clean, no one cleaned or refilled anything. Great air conditioning and views. Bed was good.
2-night trip

6/10 Good

Great location
The pros: good location, room had nice view over lake, close to eat street. The cons: poor overhead room lighting, one bedside lamp per queen bed, bedding was too hot, no free wifi, (O/S travellers do not have enormous data), expected to chromecast from personal streaming services, no provision of parking by Novotel. We found the stay quite impersonal.
2-night trip

Tired
The hotel is very tired and needs an upgrade. The bath / shower area is antiquated and dirty
D, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The location is perfect but this hotel is quite old and interior & facility need to be up-dated.
KUEI-I, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

had some problems with checking in but most of the staff are very accomodating and helpful which ill be giving them a good point on that.
Janine, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Breakfast was not managed well.
My daughter find hair in her bed. I also saw some hair on the bathroom floor. The thing that bothered us the most was how understaffed the restaurant was during breakfast. There was bird poop on my chair and only one side of the pancakes were cooked. We also had to wait to get clean mugs.
Iskender, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Great location, great facilities and the food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. This is our 5th visit and we have never been let down.
Hayley, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The hotel is comfortable, and centrally located to all the points of interest.
Charles, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Location is great.
Jim, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The place is nice and clean. However, the hotel should be equipped with amenities that are important for guests - for example dental kit, slippers etc.
Joseph, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Comfortable bed, great location, the room was clean, although bathroom needs an upgrade. Disappointed the pool/spa wasn’t open the whole time we were there. Apart from the lady who checked us in, the rest of the staff have an attitude as if everything’s too much effort.
Julie, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good place to stay.
Amir, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

No hair dryer. Only one bathrobe in the closet and no slippers. The hotel lobby is dark and uninviting. Breakfast buffet was mediocre.
Dale, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Definitely just paying for the location, which is awesome. Restaurants right there, lake across the road. The hotel itself has seen better days. Shower water temperature fluctuated constantly, bed was too soft and lifts looked very run down. While the staff were friendly, we weren't given any info regarding breakfast being included or wifi details when we checked in.
Jade, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great location on the lake. Breakfast was great, however they could have done with another coffee machine! Loved it!
Kate, 3-night trip

Lovely buffet breakfast. So much to choose from. Nice staff who are efficiently working in the breakfast area.trying to tend to your needs. In the room the toilet bwas a bit dated but overall excellent stay and lovely hotel.
