Overall, I had an okay stay. The property appears to be undergoing renovations, and I believe it has the potential to be a much better experience once the work is complete. The rooms were comfortable, and it's clear the staff is making an effort to maintain them during the renovation. One area that could be improved is front desk availability. On two occasions, I went to the reception desk for assistance and waited about 10 minutes without anyone present. Having someone consistently available would enhance the guest experience. On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast was very good, and the hotel's location is convenient, less than a five-minute drive from several restaurants and shopping centers.

Diamond in the rough. This Hotel is a GREAT STAY!

I absolutely loved this Hotel! It was a pleasure to stay here. The front desk receptionist Latonya made me feel very welcomed and appreciated as a guest. They even had hot breakfast. Definitely gonna make this a top hotel to stay at on my list.

This hotel is still under construction while the room we were given was clean and pretty nice. The bed was hard. The television did not work. We went to the office, but it was never fixed when we got there. We were charged $100 deposit and and it was not refunded that they said we smoked me and my boyfriend don’t even smoke. They kept our deposit refused to give it back so don’t stay at this hotel in Merrillville. There are many other nicer friendlier hotels in the area.

Hotel was great all the way around. Sleep Inn is a perfect name for the hotel because the feather down comforter, the medium soft bed, the pillows were a comparison to feather down pillows, very, very fluffy.Four pillows per bed. Amazing sleep.

Honestly room was clean. Comfortable bed. A/C was great. Downfall was the tub. Gross would be the word. Plenty of hot water. F- to the Staff. 4 day stay room never got cleaned. Asked but never got done. Gave bed sheets 3rd night to front desk. They had no replacements. 11:30 pm finally got one sheet ?? Will not stay again!! Would not discount or refund any cost. Would give me discount next time. What a joke!!! If I was hotel.com I wouldn't put them on my page.

Our first clue that this was going to be a poor experience is that our room number was literally written on the wall outside our room with red sharpie. I'm not kidding. When we walked in to the building just prior to getting to our room, the stairs leading to the second floor were stripped down to glue on old wooden steps and there was a caution tape ripped and hanging from both posts. I could have gotten past that, but the sharpie room number clinched it. I do have to say, staff immediately offered us another room and while it didn't smell like smoke, it definitely still smelled old and stuffy. We had paid for a room with a king bed and the replacement was only a queen. But staff was friendly and like I said, they offered a new room right away. Overall, would not go back, though. Not worth the $120, sadly.

The room started off great with a nice layout & updates in the not too distant past…until I discovered that both the sink & tub did not drain properly. The hallway smelled like pot in the morning. I had to turn on the waffle maker myself & discovered almost no batter available. Both the morning & afternoon staff chose to help someone behind me instead of focusing on my needs during my transactions. It was disconcerting to not feel valued as a customer. They were quick to respond to my husband’s concerns about a family who had been hanging around in their car for hours, coming inside for drinks & restroom breaks.

Breakfast bar ran out of sausages, which was the only meat they had. Room we had was a two room suite, but didn't have a door to separate the two rooms, who in the world gets a two room suite that doesn't want privacy? Only 1 of the two bathrooms had a sink, the television remote didn't work properly, tv had to be manually turned on and volume just couldn't be adjusted. The bed squeaked whenever you moved, so we could hear our children every toss and turn with no door. The hallway smelled. The key cards were finicky especially to enter the building. Lastly, and probably the most egregious, the shower curtains were filthy, and we were told we would have to wait until the morning when housekeeping arrived for fresh ones and actually had to go back and forth with the front desk to have them replaced immediately. All of these issues with the price of the room, this was a terrible value, the fault is mine, I should've done more research but this was a last minute trip due to a plumbing issue.
