Keswick centre has lots of independent shops plus some more well known stores. Some really great places to eat and drink.I recommend The Orange Square for great tapas, the Dog and Gun for fab cosy pub atmosphere and Craft Beer Keswick for craft beer.

Really liked Keswick, close to lots of walks / hikes. Easy to get bus other places in the area. Lots of good cafes, pubs, restaurants and were busy so created nice buzz on an evening. Great choice of shops also. Would definitely visit again.

We took a walk up to Latrigg, a viewpoint that overlooks Keswick, Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite. It's only an hour or so up and down and the ascent and decent aren't too difficult.

Have been going to Keswick since i was a youngster as my auntie stayed there. Plenty of choice for eating out and having a drink plus lots of great walks in Keswick and surrounding area
"Amazing for so many reasons. The staff (family) are so incredibly helpful, friendly and genuine. Each of them went out of their way to make our vacation better. The House itself is incredible and kept immaculately. The location is a little walk out of town so it is peaceful all the time but close enough to walk into town to tour. Views are amazing from the hilltop perch. Lots of parking and short walk to the bus. Breakfast was incredibly good and well organized. Lots of selection for us Vegetarians. Rooms are spacious and have modern bathrooms and a nice coffee bar. Communications with them was easy and quick and helped clarify things before our visit. Don't hesitate to book this perfect vacation experience. Our time spent there was much more than accommodation. "
"Great place to stay. Room spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast amazing, so much choice. Sited right in town near all shops, restaurants and bars."
"Two night stay for a family gathering, the staff were amazing very accommodating, evening food was great and the breakfast was great, overall a lovely place to stay. "
"The new owners have retained the character and comfort of the Royal Oak but have improved the facilities. The food was nice but I don’t understand why veg and potatoes are charged extra. "
"Perfect find fir a few nights away with the bonus of parking in Keswick!!
Hotel was beautiful and certainly above the ‘stars’ given.
Bedrooms were massive and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts were amazing and plenty of it.
Some decor dated bit the staff certainly made up for any of that. .. Kind, professional, knowledgable, engaging abd with a sense of humour. …. Certainly a credit to Hotel.
Hotel has recently been modernised bit nit lost its Victorian charm.
Definitely worth a visit "
