Tower District
The Tower District pulses as Fresno's artistic heartbeat, where the historic Art Deco Tower Theatre anchors a lively scene of indie music venues and creative spaces. Catch a show at 2nd Space Theatre, browse vinyl at record shops, or admire colourful murals transforming building walls into canvases. The bohemian vibe attracts those seeking authentic culture away from mainstream attractions. Olive Avenue buzzes with vintage clothing stores, craft breweries, and ethnic eateries that stay open late for the nightlife crowd. While accommodation is limited within the district itself, getting around is easy on foot. Most visitors park once and spend the evening bouncing between venues that showcase local talent and creative energy.

Fig Garden offers an elegant retreat with its tree-lined streets and upscale residential charm. Mature fig trees create natural canopies perfect for peaceful morning strolls. The neighborhood's Mediterranean Revival and Tudor architecture showcases Fresno's sophisticated side, while nearby Fashion Fair Mall and Vineyard Farmers Market provide shopping options without the hustle. Dining options feature California cuisine at upscale casual restaurants with warm service. Most visitors choose luxury holiday rentals or bed & breakfasts in converted historic homes. Roosevelt
Roosevelt offers a peaceful slice of authentic Fresno living away from the tourist bustle. The neighborhood's charm comes from its family-oriented vibe, tree-lined streets, and scattered local eateries serving up delicious Mexican fare. Take a stroll through quiet residential blocks or visit The Big Fresno Fair when it's in town for a taste of local culture. Budget-friendly holiday rentals in single-family homes make this area perfect for travellers watching their wallet. While you'll need a car to explore (public transit is limited), the wide streets offer plenty of parking and easy access to city centre Fresno's attractions.
Pinedale
Pinedale gives you a taste of Fresno's local flavour without the city centre hustle. This friendly residential area surprises visitors with authentic Southeast Asian restaurants tucked into unassuming strip malls. Shop for unique ingredients at ethnic supermarkets or browse the nearby Riverpark Shopping Centre for more mainstream options. When you need a breather, the local parks offer quiet spots to unwind. Getting around pretty much requires wheels—either your own car or a rideshare. Most budget-friendly motels offer rates well below city centre prices, making this area perfect for travellers watching their wallets. The dining scene may close early, but the homestyle Hmong cuisine at family-run spots is worth planning your day around.

we tried out 2 new to us restaurants: Heirloom for lunch (freshly prepared and beautifully presented plates and Annesso's Pizzeria was terrific as well. Fresh ingredients and they offered bubbly water AND flat water at the table as we sat down.

I grew up in Fresno and left in 1980. Back then, Blackstone and Shaw was the edge of town. Now it is the center of town. Although it is much bigger now, it is still a very nice place.

Good breweries downtown. I like Fresno. It's a little rough around the edges, but that makes it interesting.

We came to see the illumination lights to experience something different we would have come back for the zoo the next day but the weather was not the best for to see the animals.
"This place was nice for a quick overnight stop. Staff was friendly. Buildings were old and smelt old but i didnt mind.
The breakfast ended at 9 which was too short of time.
They do have extended stays, so are peoplw living there?"
"Had some issues with my ac and fridge for the first time and I stay here regularly. Staff was on it immediately, offered a new room but I was happy to wait for a tech. Got it going ASAP! Only place I trust over night. The cookies they have are always so delicious too! 10/10 recommend. Great option for beer if you’re into it, right down the street from a great brewery!"
"Staff was friendly and informative
It was at night and we noticed that there were homeless individuals in the surrounding area where the hotel is located
The Queen beds were clean and comfy
The room had a coffee pot with complimentary coffee and cups, along with a microwave; however, the refrigerator was unplugged and hadn't been cleaned
The TV and remote worked fine
In regards to the environmeant of the hotel, we found it to be peaceful and quiet
There was a refundable $50 deposit
The hotel staff also accommodated my request for a room on the floor level
We did have difficulty with the cards. It had to be swiped several times over before it would register and unlock
Check in time was anytime before 12 AM
Check out time was a bit confusing because the itinerary said between 10 and 11 AM
I was told it was by 10 AM and my grandson was told it was by 10:30 AM
It would be a good idea if they updated the information on there website
Due to the hotel being a bit old, it had a musty smell which I liked because it reminded me of the old days and how buildings were built back then
The price of $75 was reasonable for a 1 day and night stay for two people
There were fast food and gas stations in the surrounding area within a few feet to a mile radius.
And about 1/2 mile or so from the Valley Children's Stadium
All in all, we would book a room there again
Thank you for a pleasant stay
"
"This is a very nice hotel has a very nice swimming pool it's a little bit of an isolated area which is fine because you don't have people roaming through breaking into things. I would stay here again and next time I would stay longer."
