We wished we'd booked at least a third night as there were still things we wanted to do. Kirkwall is a lovely little town with good bus links around the island. The cathedral is magnificent and plenty of interesting shops too.

Definitely worth looking inside the Cathedral - I'm sorry not to have been able to book onto a detailed tour (they are on Thursdays and Saturdays, which didn't coincide with my availability), but even having a look independently is very worthwhile.

Main purpose for the trip was to visit the archaelogical dig at Ness of Brodgar. On-site activities will be shutting down at the end of this week, but there is an excellent display at the museum
"Lovely B&B. Friendly check-in. Clean, comfortable and spacious room with a lovely ensuite shower room.
Bed was very comfortable. Good location with car park at rear. Lovely breakfast with lots of choices. Would stay again."
"We had an incredible 2 night stay here. Fyona and Colin went above and beyond to make us feel at home and we would 100% stay there again! Breakfast was delicious, the room was cozy but just what we needed and the neighbourhood was quiet. It's about a 20 minute walk to the shops in Kirkwall which was so perfect. Can't recommend enough!"
