I loved the historical beauty of Buxton. It's a wonderful place to stay in the Peak District, especially if you have a family. It's close to Manchester and many great houses and trails. The bus system can be unreliable though so use taxis or a car.

Buxton is charming. We went cycling along The Monasal trail which is fantastic. Buxton has a superb bus network that works well when you want to go hiking etc.

If you are reasonably fit try a circular walk of Buxton across the hill-tops as I did - it is possible and you'll clock up 7 miles.

It Felt very quiet but we love the history and old buildings. Everyone was very friendly. The market was a bit underwhelming but we did go in February so might be based on the weather. There's a lot of charity shops

"Amazing room - immaculately clean, huge and luxurious.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and really efficient .
The food is lovely. Would definitely stay again "
"I booked a compact room usually these are very small but comfy. This was downstairs with only 1 other room close by. Spacious quiet and comfortable. Also cool which was nice as its unusually warm in Buxton. The piano playing in the lobby is a lovely touch "
"Superb accommodation. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Great shower. Perfect location10 minutes stroll to town and 30 mins walk to the brewery. Best thing about this place though is the staff - amazing - really friendly, helpful and kind. Great pub serving Jaipur, which is my favourite beer. Didn't take the opportunity to enjoy the live music as we were there for rest but we would take it up next time we stay. Btw don't be put off by late night music. The rooms are very very quiet. Window open all night and no noise from the street either
Thank you to everyone who made our stay incredible. And thank you to Ian for the drinks. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Buxton."
