My view of the Sierra Nevada Mt range from the cafe at David Walleys Hot Springs Resort.
Whether it's fine dining in the main restaurant or breakfast at the cafe, the food has been superb. 
And of course the  views are beautiful. You can stay at the resort or just stop in for a dip in the hot springs. And then take the mile or so stroll to the historic town of Genoa NV.
Roughly 45 minutes over the hill from South Lake Tahoe or an hour from Reno.
