The Imperial Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The staff in all my dealing both on line and in person have been extremely helpful and efficient. reception helped me up the stairs at the rear with my bags and the lady on the desk in reception was friendly and welcoming. As were the waiting staff in the dining room.(we ate there for two breakfasts and two evening meals. the quality of the food was of a high standard and well presented. breakfast was buffet style and this was well stocked with plenty of choice of juices, cereals continental or the full English. Dinner Choice was good with a meat a fish or vegetarian vegan option,..staff asked about food allergies and plates were cleared away as soon as all diners at the table had finished .with minimal waiting for next course to appear. The communal areas were smartly decorated Bar staff efficient and friendly. the only observation i would have is that the furniture in my room was dated and had signs of wear and tear but there was plenty of starage a wardrobe , chest of draws and a dressing table two bedside cabinets and plenty of plug sockets to put chargers and my CPAP machine beside the bed without need of extention cables . there was also a powerful hair dryer and a large fan . I would happily stay at this hotel again by myself in the future it felt very safe and a home from home. the bar area and garden veranda and grounds were well tended and the gate at the bottom of the grounds leads out to the main sea front road and the beautiful sandy beach. Dogs welcomed "
"Parking can be a problem as has limited spaces at Hotel, how ever side street parking wasn’t a problem… All in all a very pleasant stay , would recommend. "
"Superb location near Haytor on Dartmoor. Very comfortable bed, friendly helpful staff. Lovely views over the garden and surrounding area from the restaurant.
Excellent food in the restaurant but it was pricey.
Excellent tasteful decor in the lounge which matched the moorland area very well.

"Very short overnight stay, wish we had time to stay longer and make use of the food options. It was very cosy, beds were excellent and very spacious. Parking was easy and felt safe and quiet. Would definitely return. Good value."
"I love the concept of sustainability here and it has been implemented extremely well, whilst maintaining high standards. The tea/coffee/hot chocolate area on each floor rather than in rooms gave more variety, better quality and the refillable water bottle in the room to use for the filtered water at the refreshment station was excellent.
The bed was so comfy and the room was excrptionally bright, airy and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming!"
"We really enjoyed our one night stay. We had a twin room overlooking the atrium, which we booked using Tesco Clubcard vouchers. Our room was spacious and clean, and we enjoyed making use of the gym and spa facilities, which were included. "
