Unfortunately, our experience at Habitat Apartments Alaia was very disappointing.
We arrived as a family of five with three children and eight pieces of luggage, only to find that the elevator was completely out of service. We had to carry three large suitcases and five carry-on bags up several flights of stairs. We reported the issue immediately that same night through the property's emergency contact, but no solution was available.
We had also booked a three-bedroom apartment, but one bedroom had no air-conditioning unit at all, and the A/C in another bedroom did not cool properly.
After finally getting to sleep very late following all these problems, we were awakened at approximately 8:30 a.m. by very loud construction/work noise coming from above the apartment or roof area. The elevator was still not working that morning.
We documented the issues with photos and videos and communicated them to the property. Because the problems remained unresolved, we decided to check out early the following day, which resulted in additional expense, considerable inconvenience, and the loss of the family plans we had scheduled for that day in Barcelona.
The apartment itself may have positive aspects, but based on our experience, the combination of an unavailable advertised elevator, inadequate air conditioning, construction noise, and the lack of an effective solution made the stay unacceptable for our family. We would not stay here again.
