Wonderful

This is the place to stay when going up in the Helen area. The rooms are large,well appointed and have special personal touch. You are greeted by the owners, who are friendly and happy to take time to speak with the guest. The motel is off the main drag, so it's quiet. I am looking forward to going back.

Wonderful Find!

When planning a trip to the area, primarily to see the mountain village of Helen, Georgia, we decided on to stay a short drive outside of Helen in order to avoid the tourist crowds. The Nacoochee Valley Lodge was a great choice for us. It’s a simple drive out of Helen (about 10 minutes). The property is a completely renovated and updated little motor hotel, and the rooms are very cozily set up along certain themes. We stayed in the Whiskey Suite, which had two rooms, a nice little back deck overlooking a grassy field and trees, and parking right in front of the room. It was so much nicer than staying in a traditional motel, as we had our privacy and comfort. Hotel owner/manager Cindy was super nice, checked on us when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel has an adjacent sports bar/restaurant open Wed-Sun and it’s a very cozy place to eat and drink, with a full bar and Sunday specials! The room had a smart TV with Roku installed, so we could watch our own streaming accounts, and the Internet worked great! Besides the village of Helen, the hotel is also close to Unicoi State Park and several other hiking and outdoor recreation areas.

It was an amazing place to stay. Great price for the quality and service. It is far enough away from the tourist area of Helen, GA but a quick drive when it is time to be the tourist. Comfort bed, very clean, no smoke smell at all, looks like a cabin on the inside. Can't wait to go back.

5 stars for the last 5 years!!!

One of our favorite places to stay while visiting Helen. A quiet peaceful ride into town. They have a great little bar/restaurant on site. The lodge staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Wonderful Weekend at Nacoochee Valkey Lodge

We just got back home and unpacked. Now time for a quick recap. What a wonderful stay! The Big Horn suite, with its king and queen beds, were perfect for a family. The room had some great personal touches that accentuated the knotty pine and rancher furnishings. We were very comfortable and weren’t lacking of anything. Cindy is a treasure and looked after us well. As a matter of fact, the entire family were anxious to ensure we had a good stay. And I am glad we had the chance to eat at The Dugout, which is also part of the family business. The attention to quality and service there carries through from the lodge. Also, let me say that staying five miles from Helen was close enough yet away from the crowds. The setting was very peaceful and beautiful. Finally, I can assure we will be back this Fall! Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

This property was sweet and conveniently located to all of North Georgia state parks and sights! The owners were hospitable and quickly responded to our (very few, because almost everything was thought of) requests. It’s a one story-motel, but each room looks like a cabin with light-colored wood paneling. So many things were provided. The property was quiet and clean. The beds were comfortable. And, we were able to get to so many parks, waterfalls, and other destinations easily. It was nice to have a sofa and back porch to relax in. Most definitely recommend to everyone!
