Great stay in Avignon

We had a lovely 6 days at Auberge de la Treille. The hotel and surrounding grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and so charming. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner from the restaurant one night, absolutely delicious. Temperatures were in the high 90’s (F) during our stay so the pool was a major plus, we used it every afternoon. Our room was spacious, very clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. Again, having A/C in the room made it a pleasure to come back to after a hot day of touring around. The location is super close to the old walled city of Avignon but just out of the way enough that it felt quiet and away from the tourist crowds. (We rented a car and it was a very quick 5-10 drive to the center of Avignon with convenient parking garages just inside the walls of the old city. Appx 20-30 mins to walk but if it’s very hot or you have young kids with you, a car or bikes may be a better option. Ubers are also easy to get at the hotel). Highly recommend Vinotage, a charming wine bar on a barge just across the street for those evenings when you don’t feel like venturing into town. Great local/Provencal wines and great food. Many thanks to all the friendly and helpful staff, especially Marlena, Charlotte, Julien, and Ousman (and please forgive my misspellings of the names!). And of course to the fabulous pair of hound dogs and cats who help run the hotel and add tremendously to the ambiance! Highly recommend!!!

Härligt miljö

Väldigt trevligt ställe. Bra restaurang till middag. Tar ungefär 15-20 mins att gå till stan. Poolen är väldigt bekväm och härligt med trä som ger lite skugga under dagtid. Hade varit fint om man kunde ha frukost utomhus!

Expérience incroyable

Super endroit, nous y avons passé une nuit en famille lors de notre retour de vacances ce fut une magnifique expérience. Nous sommes arrivés bien plus tard que prévu mais la maîtresse de maison nous a accueilli avec sympathie et professionnalisme. Auberge et propriétaire au top on se sent comme à la maison . Super soirée à Avignon qui est à 5 min . Une nuit au top et un petit déjeuner royale . Encore un grand merci pour ce merveilleux moment dans votre auberge nos enfants nous en parle encore !! I really wanted to like this property but there many issues. First of all this is not a real hotel. It's a bed and breakfast. The day we showed up, the gate was closed and there was no way to get in. After driving and walking around the outside fence for half an hour we found a construction worker who went and found a care take for the place. The place looked abandoned and the owners were away.i offered to cancel but they insisted we stay. The château itself had seen better days and they were in the process of repair. Our room was ok and it was nice to be in the woods. they never cleaned the room in our 3 days there but they provided a change of towels once. The owners need staff but appear reluctant to obtain. Overall it was an OK experience

This is a very small property, only 5 or 7 rooms, set on the end of an island in the Rhone river. The owners/staff were extremely nice people. A set menu for lunch and dinner that changes by the season is available for some days, not everyday. there are local wine bars within walking distance and walkable into Avignon's old town. very quiet. lots of space available for a venue event. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.
