Fantastic

We had an amazing anniversary stay at this beautiful, charming hotel. We were greeted by welcoming, friendly staff upon arrival, and check in was quick and easy. Our room was immaculate and impressively decorated. The bed was very comfortable, but the stand out feature was the tin bath - a real showstopper. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic night away.

Nice Romantic Getaway

Lovely romantic night away. Quirky little room with wooden beams and a chandelier. Lovely comfy bed and a great choice of hot drinks. Best bit was the ensuite bathroom with a large walk in shower and a roll top metal bath! Garden is lovely, restaurant is nice and staff are very professional. Recommended

Ok stay. Hotel busy with wedding guests, just felt tired and the staff seemed either over worked or disinterested .

6/10 Good

Vastly overpriced/ No hot water until 9.15am. Breakfast just warm but NOT hot. Not as clean as we expected Dingy, needs decorating Better value at Premier Inn Daughter went to a Bed and Breakfast down the road, far better at half the price

8/10 Very good

Expectations in all areas prior to arriving were met for a 2 night stay. Food exceeded this however for both breakfast and tea (didnt have lunch), compliments to the chef/s. Room size could be challenging for anyone 6 foot+, unfortunately that didnt apply to me. It was quite a hot couple of night's and the reservation mentioned air con but the room didnt have this, just a desk fan, which was disappointing. The overall lighting in the place was quite dark, assuming to create a ambiance, however I would suggest brightening this up slightly. 3.5 /5

2/10 Poor

Next day after booking a non-refundable room, we were informed by email from the hotel that a function was happening that day and half the hotel including lounge area would be inaccessible and that there may be excessive noise. The function was a wedding and our room was right above. Exceptional noise all afternoon into the evening including live band. We stayed in the restaurant as long as we could as there was no where else open to us in the hotel. At 10 pm we went to our room and immersed ourselves in the noise until it ended at 12 pm. I complained next day and in as many words was told tough. I explained we wouldn’t have stayed had we had a refund option. Reception staff said this option was on their email. I have checked, a lie, no refund option offered. Food was good, but shan’t be back. Beware booking if not part of a wedding party.

A great night at Le Petit Chateau

We stayed at Le Petit Chateau to celebrate a friend's wedding. Our room, 20, was on the first floor and overlooking the carpark but we were not there for the views. The room features a rustic bed with logs for legs. The paintwork was a dark bluey green on two walls with exposed brickwork to the others. Subdued lighting with hanging lights at either side of the bed and a low wattage ceiling lamp. There was a small wardrobe housing the safe, hair dryer and fan with limited but enough hanging space. Complimentary Marlish water was provided along with Belgian chocolate snacks and a pack of local shortbread biscuits, tea and coffee choices too. The bathroom was exposed brickwork, large bathsheets and handtowels were provided. A marbled handbasin along with a toilet and a large shower. Flooring was stone flags finished it off.. complimentary qualitiy soaps and shampoos were plentiful. We were there for a wedding party downstairs with entertainment. There were short delays in being served at times but no drama. A great night was had by all. Our room was quiet and before I knew it, it was time to head down for breakfast. Tea and coffee were offered and a great choice of breakfast was available to order,.I had the Hadrian's Wall full English though there were many options including Vegan and GF.

Lovely night away

The food in restaurant and staff were great and the place lovely, I think our room was a little tired and could do with a revamp but we had a lovely stay

Insects in room and showers not working

To explain what happened was the following which the manager of the night shift was aware of was the following. We had checked in mid day to drop the bags in the hotel room to find we had not been provided toilet paper ,which was quickly solved when I spoke to the front desk , after this we went down to enjoy the wedding as normal. When we finished the night we went back to the room to find the shower not working (Temperature would not change from cold) and the room full of harvest flies and insects . This was due to the room windows all being left open , we then mentioned this to the night shift manager who moved us to room 23 to which the insect situation was exactly the same but the shower was working. As this was at 1 am in the morning and no other room was available we had no choice to accept this. We are not happy that we have paid £197.19 for a single night to barely have a good nights stay. I emailed the manager and have been ignored so this review is the next step.

Lovely wedding stay

We visited for a wedding in the adjoining Le petite chateau and had a wonderful day. All of the staff were polite, helpful and service was excellent. The wedding food and the breakfast were both delicious. Our room was a good size with a lovely walk in rainfall shower. My only slight disappointment was that the room was very dark despite 2 windows because they both faced onto a wall. It didn’t really matter to us because we literally only slept in it but I’d be unhappy if we were staying a few nights. Definitely recommend.
