We stayed in the one bedroom romantic room over Christmas. Pros of the room: air conditioning works great, room was cleaned well, we had all the towels and linens we wanted. Cons: beds are rock hard, the romantic room is so tiny, no TV, walls are a little thin (bring ear plugs), and the lighting was really poor.
That said! The romantic rooms open up to the pool level that has lounge chairs and little tables, and an outdoor bbq. The view from here is really incredible. We watched the sunrise most mornings. The best thing about our stay was the lady who runs the place, Esmeralda. She and her family welcomed us with open arms, and treated us like family. She works so hard for the hotel and its guests, and helped us with everything we needed. When she heard that my fiancé had gotten sick, she immediately ran to her kitchen and made him a home remedy! She was truly amazing. While we were there we also saw the other suites. The 2 bedroom villas are certainly worth the price and come with a full kitchen, TV, 2 bedrm, 2 baths, with an unreal view from the 3 balconies in-room.
The wifi doesn't work in the rooms, but has a strong signal in the common areas.
This hotel is on a great big hill/mountain, and is a good hike. The hotel also has several levels- not good for people with mobility issues!
PLEASE NOTE the map on hotels.com is wrong! Google the hotel and find the map on the chulavista website. That one is correct.
A huge thank you to Esmeralda. We love you!!
