Good rooms and great restaurant

We stayed here as the food in restaurant is excellent and wanted to not have to travel to it. Overall good but walls between rooms thin and bathrooms orientation needs looking at. I think they have tried to squeeze in a bath and shower separately. Either Nice Shower or shower over bath would be good rather than both. The current configuration left little room for toilet.

Lovely hotel. £50 fee on arrival is expected so anyone visiting is aware! Staff (when actually on reception) were great though tv in bathroom didn’t work and her advice was “theres a knack to it”. Not very helpful however I would definitely stay again. Perfect for couples as they put petals on the bed for my birthday. Big enough fridge for food too. Decent on site car park, busy during peak restaurant hours. Book breakfast/dinner slots in advance also!

This is a great place to stay. All the staff are so helpful and friendly. The standard of accommodation is exquisite and the restaurant… don’t get me started on the sardines-they were to die for. Ample parking right outside for free and easily walkable to the town centre. Definitely be staying here again next time I am over that way.

Room was decent size, had everything needed for the stay. Wardrobe doors need adjusting to close properly. Toilet roll holder too close to toilet and rolls kept falling off. Mattress on the soft side as were pillows. Used 3 just to be comfortable. Curtains hanging off their clips....fixed myself. Liked the option of bath and separate shower.

Best avoided!!!

Didn’t get to stay as the owner rang and demand my 3digit security code to secure my booking. Banks consistently tell us not to share these details when called so I politely declined as hotels.com hold my card details for booking and any other hotel stays that require payment on arrival at least wait for you to arrive. Was told I had up until 18:00 to arrive but due to horrendous traffic conditions I didn’t get nearby until 17:00, was then told my room had been sold to one of their regulars and was left without a room whilst 3 hours from home. No business sense, unreasonable staff and my only experience of such a set up after 200+ hotel bookings over the last year years.
