Exceptional Guest House and Hospitality

Having never visited Whitby before we were guided by the exceptional reviews of Rosslyn House and the hospitality given by Martin and Vanessa. We were not disappointed. Our room, albeit up several flights of stairs, was wonderfully clean, large and well stocked with the added bonus of a small fridge (cold water and milk restocked daily) and the most delicious home made chocolate cake left for us. A lovely touch and much appreciated! Having asked for twin beds we were suitably impressed to being given a large super king bed, with the most comfortable mattress we've slept on. The breakfasts MUST be mentioned as 5 star! My personal favourite was the fresh fruit compote, fruit, greek yogurt and muesli (an absolutely delicious starter - and personally made for me on the second morning when I mentioned an allergy to kiwi fruit, one being brought out just for me). A thoughtful touch! The breakfasts themselves consisted of several choices daily on a board and of course my husbands favourite, the full cooked english. He says, absolutely delicious sausages. The B&B is very close to the town and harbour which offers a terrific selection of excellent shops and restaurants, the latter again recommended by Martin prior to our visit, so that we could pre-book during a very busy season. Much appreciated! Cannot recommend this highly enough and many thanks Martin and Vanessa. We wish we'd had one more day!

A warm weekend in Whitby

Rosslyn House is a very comfortable and spotlessly clean B&B run by a very welcoming and friendly couple. The breakfasts we had were superb and set us up for the day. The only negative we had was with the car parking. We arrived in Whitby on a very hot September day and the town was crammed with visitors. There was hardly a parking space to be found anywhere. An on street parking pass is provided by the proprietors but I had to park on a municipal car park overnight and pay. Luckily I found an on street parking spot not too far from the Rosslyn the next day. The Rosslyn is located close to the promenade at West Cliff and only 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

Great stay at Rosslyn House

My wife and I decided to take a break for couple of days in Whitby. Based on previous reviews we opted to stay at Rosslyn House and we were not disappointed. Lovely room and great location. Breakfast was beautiful to suit all diets. Would definitely stay there again.

On street parking with residents pass is available but there are several nearby guest houses so would recommend arriving at the property promptly if a very nearby space is required. Several nearby resterants and cafes. View of Whitby abbey from the front door. Convenient for all the sights.
