Not good

Stayed one night to test this hotel for a long stay - i decided that i will not stay longer, reasons: 1. My bed linen ware not chnaged, so in night i needed to go to reception and they had to chnage bed linens - which ware full of stains!!! 2. Food is good if you are American - and underadverage iof you are Grench, Spanish, Italian 3. They had people doing work on the building - so in the morning i had people going down by ropes on the balcony - no one dvised me that someoen will be on my balcony 4. Hotel is outdated 5. Price i paid for all inclusive was high comparasing to overall value of my stay

Absolutely loved our week stay at El Cid. Every single staff member was so kind (thank you Ari, Armando, Miguel, David, Victor, Roger, Juan, and Roberto, plus everyone else whose name I couldn’t catch!!). The snorkeling in front of the resort is incredible - we saw so many different fish, a spotted eagle ray, and a southern sting ray. Very cool sunken anchor to look at too. Cruise ships were not a bother. The food was DELISH and we always had the choice to eat either buffet or menu. I just really have no complaints, I’m so happy with our stay it was perfect.

Stayed here for 8 days very clean and nice place. The island is super safe we felt safe going out for a walk at night no problem. One thing to complain is the whole island is catered towards the cruise ships so at 6 everything shuts down and the night life boring besides going for a nice walk. Highly recommend for someone who just wants a relaxing vacation and not wanting to go out and party.

I REALLY loved my stay here. Angela and Emy are wonderful representatives of this hotel. The elite all inclusive definitely comes with its perks so that’s highly recommended. The snorkeling right out front of the hotel is top notch. If you don’t bring your gear there’s an area near the volleyball courts you can rent some snorkel gear. I plan on returning in the Autumn with my more extended family.

I would date this property 6/10. For the price, it was ok. We checked in on a Wednesday at 2pm, front desk told us to come back around 3 because our room wasn’t ready. So we went to “the beach” (property is not on a beach which we found out when we got there) we went back to the front desk at 3:30 and our room was still not ready which was disappointing but worse when the front desk is super rude. They didn’t have beach/pool towels for 48 hours, we ended up buying some from a local shop for our excursion. And the front desk and pool towel lady were extremely rude. They kept telling us they would send towels to our room. We never received any towels. They say they have 2 restaurants, 1 bar and 1 swim up bar which is completely false. They have 1 restaurant that it. The restaurant, bar and swim up bar are all the same place. There is a restaurant called Deck 41 but told us that was not included in our all inclusive stay. Meals were mostly buffet style which I’m not against but they wouldn’t let us order off the menu. Food was ok, not great but not terrible. Pool was so cold, so we weren’t able to enjoy the pool We ended up going off site for dinner twice so we could try different food. My husband and I made the most of our trip but we will not be returning to El CID.

Great value in Cozumel!

We spent a week in Cozumel at Iberostar. We decided to stay a few extra days, so we booked two nights at El Cid. Wow, what a difference in the room quality - we were blown away at how much nicer the room was for 1/3 of the Iberostar price. The service and food were excellent too. Our only complaint was that the check-in process was a little inefficient. We are going back in two months!

I really enjoyed staying here. The dining area was rarely crowded, the food was passable (at least for a Canadian), the staff at the reception desk, dining hall and maintenance crew were always willing to help. The room I stayed in was great once they cleared up problems with the house phone, tub drain and hot water, which they attended to right away. If I return (I am 79) I’ll certainly stay here again.

There was not one single thing we liked about this resort. We disliked it so much, that we checked out and went to another resort. Literally through money in the trash. I would not ever book there again and would never recommend El Cid to anyone. In fact, I will advise people to run as fast as possible. The reviews on Expedia about this resort are far from true. I highly recommend Expedia to take them off their list of resorts.

The staff was very friendly and service minded, but the hotel management was very slow and greedy (charging internet at $5 for each device per day as an additional fee) and made mistakes with assigning the rooms without providing any kind of compensation nor proper explanation
