Hotels.com bad
The property, the people, the atmosphere and the service were often. I would give them five stars across the board, but Hotels.com screwed up our reservations and instead of a king bed, we got a twin bed in a room 200 sq ft at the most. The hotel indicated that Hotels.com did not get us the room promised, that we reserved and paid for

A real gem
This hotel is amazing! The property is the right blend of up to date with the historic look and feel. We stayed in one if the cotteges and it was heavenly. It was quiet, fairly large and very comfortable. The staff was so nice and helpful. I haven't been greeted that well at a hotel in a long time. The restaurants were excellent. This hotel is a gem and we will be back.

Beautiful old boutique hotel. Worth it!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! The champagne and lavender towel upon check-in were a much welcomed treat after a long afternoon of driving. The hotel is gorgeous, the food in the restaurant (Sac Bar) hit the spot for supper and the front porch of the hotel was nice to relax on. Remember this is an older historic place, so you'll have to carry luggage up flights of stairs, but I knew that, so I was prepared and it didn't bother me. It was worth the stay and I'd absolutely stay here again if I visited this part of the Country again.

The staff is always so wonderful and helpful and kind. I felt terrible for the girl that checked us out this morning as an older british man rudely interrupted when she was trying to help us. Then proceeded to barrade this poor girl over something that had nothing to do with her or the hotel but was actually a personal problem that was easily avoided if had he just opened his eyes and used his brain. I hope he realizes how much of a jerk he was and that that poor girl is okay she was obviously upset by the situation and it was nothing but a display of small man syndrome on his part.

You are greeted at the front desk with a complimentary glass of champagne and a lavender scented hand towel! The staff was very welcoming and make sure you have a great stay. The building however is very old and has no elevator, luckily only goes up to the 3rd floor but you will still need to carry your suitcases up flights of stairs. The Shoshone room is super small and can fit a bed and a bathroom but not much else. This hotel is haunted! One of the most haunted in the state of Montana. If you ask the staff they will tell you stories and show you pictures. We did not encounter anything on our trip, but they do not mention anything to you unless you ask.
