Not great

We chose because location and friends loved the Fosshotel farther east near glacier lagoon. The Reykjavik Fosshotel was well located but not great at all: 1) Front desk staff did not simply explain to park and pay in connected lot under the hotel; 2) Could not get single server to get a drink from either bar- finally left both and tried just buying drinks from the souvenir shop and told they are “display only”; 3) Room floor was slippery with dirt, shower hair conditioner pump had lotion, not conditioner; 4) No smart TV so unless you packed an HDMI cable there are limited options; 5) ALL of the room lights randomly flipped on around 3am and stayed on until we got up and turned all off. So creepy and had to travel for 16 hours following day so not great sleep interruption. Maybe other Fosshotels are great but not this one.

A large hotel with a huge, delicious buffet breakfast. We stayed here both before and after our group tour of southern Iceland. Great hotel if you're part of a large group. The bedding was especially soft.

A nothing special hotel for tourists

The hotel is quite expensive. Not near the main streets of Reykjavik; about a 25 minute walk. The breakfast is crowded and overcooked. The room is hot, no ac and the window is small and provided little cool air. Overall, it's just ok

Hôtel hors de prix compte tenu des elements suivants : Chambre minuscule. Pas de service. Petit-déjeuner buffet insipide et identique tous les jours, pas digne d’un 4 etoiles. Douche et lavabo cassés sans même une cabine fermée. Seulement 3 ascenseurs eu egard au nombre de chambres. Donc si vous avez le malheur de tomber avec l’un des nombreux groupes, l’attente est longue. Le nettoyage de la chambre n’a été fait qu’à moitié (pas de reassort du café...).

Deluxe-huone oli pettymys

Vajaan viikon matka pariskuntana. Hotelli oli hyvä, palvelu toimivaa ja esimerkiksi aamiainen oikein hyvä, lisäksi sijainti mahdollisti keskustan nähtävyyksiin tutustumisen kävellen. Sen sijaan deluxe huone oli pettymys. Huoneessa oli toki neliöitä, mutta ainoa deluxe siinä oli hinta. Esimerkiksi kylpyhuone oli niin onneton, ettei siellä ollut tilaa edes normaalin kokoisille beatyboxeille.

Good location

Our 3 night stay formed the completion of our 18 day journey around Iceland. The hotel is in a great location for visiting the Downtown area. Accommodation could be improved somewhat. The bed was rock hard, however a mattress topper was available on request. The room had minimal ventilation with only a tiny high window in the corner of the room. The room was quite warm to the point of uncomfortable. Breakfast I would rate as very good as far as options go, with the usual hot and cold offerings. However as the hotel is used as a stopover for large tour groups the breakfast room is quite noisy, especially with the occasional inconsiderate guests insisting on having their phone videos playing at high volume. Uggh!! If you are looking at spending a few days in Reykjavik I would suggest booking ahead at the SIF apartments immediately adjacent to the hotel, where our travel companions were staying, and self-cater. Very clean, modern, laundry, kitchen.
