Weekend Away
Pros: location very central to railway station, shops and attractions. Good communication prior to stay, able to store luggage until room ready and access slightly early as room ready on arrival. Bed comfortable, warm room, good shower, fluffy towels and heated bathroom floor. Cons: decor overall very tired, ground floor room with window directly next to pub garden (luckily it was Feb and very cold otherwise would have had to keep window/curtains closed for privacy and safety). Noisy at night either due to external fan (didn't stop until 3am Sun morning) and/or internal fans from rooms above. Despite fab location wouldn't stay again. And yes we know it's an old building and city centrally located.

Cheap and central
Hotel was quite difficult to find as lots of the road outside was dug up . Original person in reception was not very friendly . We were on the too Floor and the stairs were very steep and winding . Room was fine if the paint was a little in need of a spruce up . The beds were comfortable if a little close together . The room was very hot even with the radiator turned off and the window open . Bathroom was volcanic . If you are looking for cheap and central then this is for you .

Lovely quirky little hotel tucked away amongst the shops but has so much character from the decor to the little touches of a coffee machine and kettle with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

The room was not ready when we arrived but the lovely cleaner finished it for us so we could get in early. Unfortunately the next day we were just going out when the cleaner came in. When we arrived back in the bed had not been made, and there was an empty bottle in there so it hadnt been cleaned at all. Just to make a point clear it was not the same cleaner as the day before.
